Somehow I am assuming live streams are as per usual geoblocked here because somethingsomething has the rights and won't show it? :p

Edit: Hold on, the morning session is actually available on YT :yikes:

Anyone know why the women's pole vault final has not started yet? It was supposed to begin 15 minutes ago

Livetiming doesn't work today, but RAI shows someone with pole on the background :p

Mboma and Maslingi are going to be the story of Athletics in the coming year.  I can’t see WA not wanting to try and have them out before Eugene.

Gold with 4.15m and podium with 4.05m in pole vault, maybe the lowest level ever?

Yes.

Worst ever winning height at U20 worlds: 4.20 m in 2000 and 1998 (the first two times this event was contested)

Worst ever height needed for bronze at U20 worlds: 4.10 m in 2000 and 1998

For comparison the marks that won gold/bronze at the last 3 U20 worlds and the result you would have gotten with 4.15 m:

2018: 4.51 m, 4.35 m, 9th place

2016: 4.55 m, 4.40 m, 7th place

2014: 4.50 m, 4.45 m, 9th place

At 2018 U18 Euros it took 4.26 m to win gold and 4.16 m to win silver. At 2021 U20 Euros it took 4.30 m to win gold, 4.20 m to win silver and 4.15 m to win bronze. I think this event clearly suffered from the absence of the german and american girls.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

@MHSN Any word anywhere on Ali Ghasem Babaei? Looked like he made some sort of missed step in the 100m heats, but continued, and then got injured worse. Looked....odd, but also very painful :(

just watched the race, yeah that looked very painful. :( that was a mistake trying to continue while feeling pain.

I know nothing more, they only reported his injury.
