Road Cycling Qualification to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

Recommended Posts

No idea who rejected quota, but our Nora Jenčušová have just been invited via reallocation also to the W Time Trial, She was originally qualified only for the Road Race, but earlier this morning we received a reallocation for her since she will be already in Paris to start also in the ITT on Saturday 27th.

Our NOC and Nora herself accepted it

The Cycling Federation of Serbia also announced today that the UCI informed them about another quota in the women's time trial.

A whole load of nations has declined quotas for the women's TT.

Not a very good look tbh.

I guess those nations/athletes give the road race a higher priority.

How does the men's side look?

To be honest, for most of those countries you can genuinely wonder: why? :p

Unless for some odd reason the riders themselves decided that.

Women’s time trial is Saturday 27th.

The road race is 8 days later

A long time to hang around if you’re not likely to win a medal, especially when a lot of the same women will follow the road race with track responsibilities

Ireland refused a re-allocated spot and tbh, I’ve no issue with it at all

This team definitely has what it takes to be a top 5 team and consistently contending for medals. First time watching Kernen play, all I can say is how is she that good at only 19? • So I was watching a replay of China-Germany in between Canada’s game against Sweden and this one against Italy and… it seems like China cheated during it which could’ve been critical in them winning the match?    During the 1st end, Xu with his last rock had an easy hit for the single against three German stones. One of the sweepers for China (I can’t tell which one, this team is quite new to me) “accidentally” kicked their own stone, which redirected one of their own stones into the rings, and Germany only got the steal of 2. HIS FUCKING FOOT IS TOUCHING THE ROCK   Now after, Team Xu was claiming that the stone was picked (it was not) and Muskatewitz was arguing that it couldn’t possibly have been picked. China wouldn’t admit it, and they ended up winning the game 10-9. BOO.    Hope these cheaters don’t qualify for the Olympics.
    • Edin usually has mediocre seasons though (that being said this has been worse than usual), then really starts to show up for Worlds. He’s only won 4 GSOC events in his career.     They’re at a 4-2 record at the moment, so seems to be the case again. Plus, they played really well in their loss to Canada.
