  1. Past hour
  2. Latest update from Jessica Gadirova suggests recovery is going well - she's posted video of her back doing some (basic) moves. Looks like the rumours of her going to Paris for uneven bars are finally beginning to die down as the video shows just how slowly and carefully they are taking her recovery.
  3. Men: M1x: Ita, Gbr or Rom. M4-: Italy and Switzerland, 8-: Two for Italy/Can/USA
  4. In LW2x two places will be taken by someone from 3: ITA, FRA, GRE. Each of these crew has almost the same chances and it will be a very close race. Whoever emerges victorious from this fight can win a medal in Paris. WX4: Ukraine and Fra/Can/USA. Italian women don't send a crew here. W8: Italy and Ger/Chn.
  5. As far as I know, Crosio is not injured. There are 4 equal lightweight rowers: Rodini, Cesarini, Crosio and Buttignon. The final training sessions were supposed to decide which team would go to Lucerne and apparently the gold duo from Tokyo was selected. Even if he advances, changes are possible for the Olympics.
  6. As a Hong Kong sports enthusiast, I don't even know has a wrestling team So I am quite surprised the name of appear here in World Olympic Qualifier (but not in Asian Qualifier / Asian Games), but I still think it would be a great experience for them
  7. Today
  8. Rowing entries M1 - Pazzaia W1 - Puspure W4 - Magner Long Hegarty Lambe so the pairs and doubles are set too
  9. Looks like Bhutan will break the ice and compete in athletics for the first time. Other than that, these nations have competed in marathon in the past, but not really since the 1980s and 1990s. I guess marathons are reverting back to large number of flags like it was back in the day, since the World Athletics made it a preferred event for the universality spots.
  10. For , Chiu Hin Chun who has taken M1x quota fight for LM2x and I didn't expect they would fight for quotas in W2x but not W1x / LW2x But actually our major hope is still in M2-, hope that the Asian Champions pair can have a fight with other European teams
  11. Dorothea Wierer confirmed she will keep going until 2026 WOG
  12. So not sure whether to post this or not as can't verify it yet but will put it here anyhow and if I need to correct it later I will. Apparently both Holly Mills and Abigail Pawlett are due to take part in the Hypo Gotzis Heptathlon next weekend and Jack Turner is due to compete in the Decathlon. I'm saying 'apparently' because it seems there has been a copy of the entry list doing the rounds on social media but the Gotzis organisers have said that it didn't come from them and they wont be publishing the official entry list until the end of the week. I'm hoping from a British perspective that all three are competing, but would also like to see Jade O'Dowda on the start line given she pulled out of her last comp.
  13. Given the athletes are already beginning to fly into , it's beyond frustrating that the Jamaican Athletics Federation can't find 10 minutes to actually publish the entry lists for this weekend's Jamaica Athletics Invitational - piecing together competitors from local news reports of who has been seen in the arrivals area of the airport is not fun. Sportsmax is reporting the line up for women's 400m hurdles as: Rushell Clayton Shamier Little Dalilah Muhammad Janieve Russell Gianna Woodruff Anna Cockrell Shiann Salmon Andrenette Knight
  14. Also fulfills the UKA "current form" requirement. So I'm willing to say he's 99% on the train with that throw, if fit.
  15. https://worldrowing.com/event/2024-world-rowing-final-olympic-and-paralympic-qualification-regatta/ Entries are out. Few noteworthy things- Italy go back to Federica Cesarini and Valentina Rodini in the LW2x (Although is Silvia Crosio injured?) - Norway and China despite having the M2x qualified pick a M4x with Helvig and Brun/ Zhang and Liu who qualified the double in the quad. - No Irish M4- .
  16. Good olympic vibes finally ! Main TV channels are broadcasting live since this morning waiting for the arrival in Marseille in front of a huge audience (150,000 people are expected) and under a great weather. Hopefully, this means a new period of excitement and national concord (wich was laking so far tbh)
  17. Conyedo never did anything special since his move to 125kg. I know he is an Olympic medalist but his recent results aren't any good. Baran on the other hand didn't wrestle in Euro qualifier. which means he is more fresh. Baran is the favorite IMO but of course Conyedo has his chances too. Valiev won the Russian nationals in 2023 but I can't remember if he wrestled anywhere after that. he was supposed to make his debut for Albania few months ago but for some reasons (injury or paperwork) it didn't happened. he won the World U23 title 3 years ago so technically he wouldn't be allowed to wrestle for another country. but looks like they paid the right guy in IOC to get an exemption for him
  18. For rowing, I think there’s only 5 countries that are eligible for mens Bénin, Kuwait, Libya, Monaco and Sudan And I can see only one for the women which is Kuwait. Probably more countries asked for invitations but those are the only that entered the qualifications races and world championship last year
  19. Scott Lincoln wins the competition in with a put of 21.25m in the last round - 25cm short of OQS but more importantly, 25cm more than the UKA standard so that should be enough for UKA to accept a World Athletics invite if he gets one. He's currently 16th in the road to Paris ranking list and top ranked non-direct qualifier so he is well placed for invite.
  20. How would you rate the Conyedo-Baran fight? When was the last time this Valiev from Albania fought somewhere?
  21. 3 quotas here ? unless you have a very good women's team, I absolutely don't think so. even 1 male quota is hard to achieve for France. even though I hope to see host nation being represented by more than couple of wrestlers in the games. that's good for the sport Magamadov is very good but he received a very hard draw. still possible but will be very hard
