  2. This, for Milica Nikolić, was her last IJF event under 48. She will compete u48, at Paris, then she will go up! (she revealed on IJF Golden Score after Dushanbe) Probably 52's? She gained 15 Grand Slam Medals (only 1 gold though) and a lot of 5th places. In 8 world championships, she placed 5th, 7th and 7th.
  3. It's a disappointing time when needs a good result just to secure a 2nd quota...
  4. No fall for Sakakibara, she started decently, but got swallowed up in the first turn and basically was out of it from then on. Pajon fell indeed, Shriever fell but was already out of contention when she did.
  5. So, I got out my abacus, and by my calculation, Sky Brown on 130,000 pts has now definitely qualified for Paris. She currently sits an effective 9th when the 3 per nation rule is applied, so to lose out altogether she would need to drop 12 (effective) places minimum in Budapest. However, given the scoring system, it is not mathematically possible for 12 athletes currently below her right now all to get enough points to catch her - obviously, and one athlete can by winning in budapest to get 210,000 pts, but 11th only gets about 45,000 - I don't think there's any mathematical way that 12 athletes (not including 3perNOC duplicates_ can ALL get past her.
  6. In u48's..... Koga is out Head dive disqualification in only 15 seconds Tara Babulfath makes it to the semi's. She is only first year junior women. Also, our two Serbian girls lost second round (first round bye)
  7. 14 yrs old Luna Vujović , should become the youngest female player in the top 1000 next week! Only competing at 4 events, she made a Senior W15, Final, SF and QF. It might not seem like much, but she has a bright future ahead. She is also u14 European and Wimbledon champion from last year.
  8. Today
  9. Men's quota matches Ursu - Szudi Zhmudenko - Wang
  10. the World Champs have started! for those in Europe, Discovery+/Eurosport Player is broadcasting the entire competition, they have all the 3 mats (no commentary for the prelims, though)
  11. in the women's Team Sabre (in Plovdiv), the semis are: vs and vs lost to 45-40 in the quarterfinals
  12. the day hasn't started well for in the Shanghai Foil GP only Martina Favaretto reched the semis among the whole Italian squad (men and women), meanwhile in Madrid the downfall of the Italian team in men's Sabre is endless: this time we lost to 45-38 (with Samele being the man who destroyed our performance, taking hits left and right from anybody in the Romanian team)
  13. They’ll likely only have a stream for the final day
  14. Keith has the OQT already and more importantly was inside the UK 'B' time here. Dever only has the 'B' time - from March - and was just outside it. That's the difference re form. I agree that the current form criteria is a bit vague. But I'm guessing it is there so the selectors aren't forced to pick someone who met the time once last summer and then hasn't got near it since. So I reckon Keith is completely safe - I don't think there's any criteria they could use to not select her. Dever is *probably* safe, but doesn't have quite the certainty yet. It depends how mean the selectors are feeling. Obviously, as you say, the results from the trials will impact things as well, as will results elsewhere. The other complicating factor in the 10000 is the quota places set aside for cross country runners. They aren't always accepted so that can impact the number of spots that might be available for quotas as well.
  15. Oleksandr Usyk is the undisputed Boxing Heavyweights World Champion, after winning by split decision against Tyson Fury the most anticipated match of the year in Riyad https://www.boxingscene.com/usyk-wins-undisputed-heavyweight-title-via-split-decision-victory-over-fury--183644
  16. Any Livestream? Apart from the audio commentary? 😁😁
  17. Poraz Puljiz, Delgado vjerovatno uzima kvotu. Za Puljiz šanse za kontinentalnu su vrlo male skoro 0% , znaci ostaje joj nada za realokaciju.
  18. no surprise Nima won the match (not really a match, just some warming up) 4-1 to qualify and Neda Shahsavari won the women's quota beating Mirkadirova 4-3 in a very close match. she will be the first Iranian woman to participate in 3 Olympics ! 2012, 2016 and now 2024.
  19. Not sure what that has to do with shooting? Anyway Algeria isn't even close to being eligible for tripartite spots.
  20. There is not much to focus on when McLaughlin only races about 2-3 times a year. Unless she suddenly turns up to Diamond Leagues and other competitions this season, it's going to feel really unsatisfying as a fan when she wins gold in Paris to be honest.
  21. No wild card for ? shame as we have good swimmers not far than minima
  22. Lots of interesting outcomes from this final. After two previous rounds of difficult low scoring lead the final sees 3 athletes touch the top hold while the highest boulder score accounts for only 2/4 tops. That lead round resulted in Lee Dohyun to take the 50 from Shanghai, putting the South Korean inches from an Olympic quota. Alberto Ginés-Lopez shows us why he’s a rightful Olympic champion with a perfect lead to get silver at the comp. An end to his best performance in the sport since his Tokyo gold medal. Adam Ondra ends up only able to use his high boulder score to get 3rd. On the other hand, rough day for Sam Avezou with a very low boulder score and a complete flop on lead, falling before getting to the first scored hold. Still, 8th is not a bad rank in the tight race for France’s two quotas.
