Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2018
Sindo and 6 others reacted to vinipereira for a topic
While I appreciate @Memo's response, I've decided not to allow Turkey's votes in this edition. I have read all of the participants' inputs and it seems pretty divided wether to allow this participation or not, both by reasons cited here and by other concerns I have. When it was time to register the songs, there was some talk about allowing users with no (or very little) participation on the forum, but then I've decided to follow the rules and allow Turkey's entry, mainly because the user was registered on Totallympics long enough (more than a year, I think, even if it was with a different account). So now it only seems fair that I follow the rules again. One thing is to extend a deadline for someone who asks for it (for any reason) or give any indication that they will vote, other is to allow votes after some important post-voting things already happened. Allowing such votes would definitely change some placings in the final ranking, and while that would be good for some nations, it wouldn't make others very happy - even if this contest is all about fun. I have talked privately with Memo and invited him to take part in our Festival of Music next weekend and in the upcoming Open contest later this year, if he wishes so. I hope we can move forward and next week I think we will have all the templates ready to go (I'm having trouble with the logo, but it should be presented soon).7 points -
Tunisia claims Tottalympics contest draw was fixed by using hot and cold balls It's a fix! The Tunisian official believes the recent totallympics contest draw was rigged amen09 also believes that OlymicIRL plays a part in this deception and accusing him of suspicious hand movements while the draws take place, with the Irish seen to be moving a lever beside the pot of balls during last day’s draw. Suspicious, indeed. “You put the balls in the refrigerator beforehand. Just by comparing one and the other when you touch them you can tell the cold balls from the hot. When you touch them, you know what they are.” Amen09 said Those incriminated by the allegations would include also vinipereira and many other users who picked out the balls in this draw There is a particular sense of injustice in Tunisia, with supporters believing that the draw (Tunisia -G.B-Argentina-Colombia ) is more difficult than the last draw of WC 20185 points

Actually, a GUEST user reported one of my posts and when I went to see the complaint, it was the votes (maybe they forgot the password again or maybe just general confusion about how the forum works?). Honestly, if they have sent his votes to me on time (and not to @amen09), it would have avoid this mess. But that was not the case and a few things happened in the mean time, including: the draw; counting the votes of everyone (pending Moldova's correction of a vote); starting working on the vote templates which are determined by the draw; and (spoiler) So yes, I'm all for the participation of different nations, but this is kind of a mess and to allow such votes now would mean that we'll have to restart some of the work that's already been done.3 points -
I see a buttload of users who I only ever see in TISC or prediction contests or maybe their own national thread. No reason to not allow them to participate. Is following the rules really that much more important than having an extra song to vote for in a music contest that's just for fun?3 points
-
From an external point of view: that's exactly the reason why we should have avoid situations like that. Once again, I promise I could find and bring here to post a song even a person from Papua New Guinea if I just spend some time on social networks searching for that, but would that be good or bad the contest? The question should not be whether to allow a user who voted late to take part, but whether to allow a user who does not even know who is the organizer of the contest to take part.3 points

Karate1 Premier League, Stage #4 (Rabat, MAR) first, we have to say that many of the usual main contenders were't there... but, since it's always the absents' fault, we have to honor those who were in Rabat... overall, Egypt and France were the only Nations to get multiple Gold medals (2 each), if we don't count the Moroccan double in the senseless Team Kata events... all the remaining Gold medals, in fact, were spread between a bunch of Nations with just a single Gold each one (HKG, TUR, JPN, BRA, DEN, FIN, UZB and AZE)... looking at the Olympic classes, the 2 Kata events have been won by Turkey (men) and Hong Kong (women)... in the Kumite disciplines, instead, JPN & BRA shared the honors in the lower female division (by winning respectively the -50kg & -55kg), with FRA taking once again the -61kg and DEN & FIN sharing the heavier class (by winning respectively the -68kg and +68kg)... on the men's side, UZB & EGY shared the lower weight division (they took the -60kg and -67kg classes, respectively), with the geat Rafael Aghayev of AZE topping the middle weights (-75kg) and EGY, once again, & FRA sharing the heavy & super-heavyweights (-84kg and +84kg, respectively)... Full Results of the entire stage #4 of the K1PL can be found here: https://www.sportdata.org/wkf/set-online/popup_main.php?popup_action=results&vernr=166&active_menu=calendar1 point -
A new forum can be a VERY confusing place. Really, why would anyone new assume that this contest always has different organizer? Is that even written in the rules? Also, remember that the Turkish user immediately entered an eligible song (released after January 1, 2017). Odds are that he actually read the rules, and not that he's some clueless rando.1 point

The fact it just for fun it does not mean rules should not be followed, otherwise what is post #3 there for ? And I have nothing against users who appears in the forum just on TISC (which are very few anyway and surely not a "buttload"), but if they are here just for the TISC it should mean they are really into it. Would you call a user who came here once, posted the song, never came back, came back after the deadline and contacted the wrong user for the votes as a passionate TISC fan? I have nothing against the Turkish member, I am just talking in general. And of course it is not me who decide, but maybe someone is interested to have an external point of view.1 point
-
For me it's reasonable for a new user to think that organizer (or rather, the person who receives the votes) is always the same... Besides, such decision is also not favorable for users that liked the Turkish entry and awarded it points.1 point
