Olympian1010 7,477 Posted April 21, 2019 #21 Share Posted April 21, 2019 Well if those 4 end up qualifying. The process works great, unless your part time of what will be an awesome European bloodbath for two spots amongst five teams. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. If Canada and the USA both qualify by ranking the North American spot will be relocated to the repechage (probably because Mexico or Jamaica was literally one series point away from qualifying in 2016 and World Rugby didn't want that...). Still going to be a really harsh road for those teams if one of them don't overtake Australia.

dcro 10,179 Posted April 21, 2019 #24 Share Posted April 21, 2019 Honestly, Spain could only defeat Kenya and Fiji in Rio. It's not like the 3rd best European team (whoever it is) will be a contender. #banbestmen

Dragon 1,701 Posted June 16, 2019 #26 Share Posted June 16, 2019 Looks like the European qualifier will feature the 5th,6th, 7th and 8th best teams in the world...

So essentially, we’ll see two world tour teams miss out? Or is it only one because Canada and US already qualified? “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Dragon 1,701 Posted June 16, 2019 #29 Share Posted June 16, 2019 1 of the European teams will qualify at the Euro Qualifier and probably 2 more at the final qualifier.
Monzanator 3,595 Posted June 16, 2019 #30 Share Posted June 16, 2019 It's Olympics, folks. IOC prefers continental diversity over actual power rankings of the sport. No surprise here.
