  1. Atos forgetting/not posting random documents is so annoying, especially because they are a difficult organization to contact. To be honest, I feel like most of the results systems since the pandemic have been a hot mess for one reason or another. Microplus’ systems for Birmingham2022, LP2023, and EYOF2023 were likely the best of the bunch so far, and I still have some nitpicks and smaller issues with those.
  2. Yeah, another highly annoying tech glitch
  3. really deserves a shoutout for the great Games they’ve had. They’ll add another gold medal in women’s teqball.
  4. It’s a chaotic event altogether because the athletes can get in each other’s way and pick up dumb penalties.
  5. Anybody else get random commercials on europeangames.tv from time to time?
  6. Were those his kids in the stands waving the flags during the match, or just some other spectators?
  7. Longoria might not be as dominant as she was a few years ago, but I’d still fancy her for gold. I do like a good upset though, and Guatemalan gold in racquetball would be pretty neat.
  8. Well, that a was a chaotic half hour of results amending
  9. motored themselves to that gold medal. A quality shooting after a hard run didn’t hurt as well. Gotta feel for
  10. has a gold medalist at last @hckošice
  11. I can’t even figure out what to type right now. I didn’t expect this at all. Just, wow! I never expected a team sports gold medal to be a reality when I started following/cheering for USVI in 2019. I wanted to cheer for a smaller NOC so I could experience big moments like this. It isn’t always easy to find info about the team, athletes, and sports culture on the islands. My fandom isn’t as strong as I’d like it to be sometimes, and I haven’t even been able to visit the islands yet. There have been many close calls with success over the last few years. It was tough watching events knowing the athletes you’re supporting are unlikely to win (at least coming from the USA). I can’t speak for the island, but I can’t even fathom what a moment this is for the players and fans. I’m just so happy for them. Here’s to more more years of supporting underdogs
  12. THEY’VE DONE IT! Gold in San Salvador!
  13. leading after the first quarter in women’s basketball. I’m honestly torn between watching and not watching
  14. I think qualification still has some advantages on the logistics and psychological side, but yeah, it’s essentially an open competition since the revisions last year.
  15. Boxing’s problem is the lack of objective scoring criteria. Fencing, taekwondo, judo, karate, etc. are all miles ahead in that space. Referees and judges can look at a situation and award points for a specific action, instead of an overall impression. While there might be debates about what should score/not score, how many points a move should be worth, etc., objective scoring systems add a lot of legitimacy and structure to bouts.
  16. Taekwondo should really be a roadmap for other federations. They created objective scoring criteria, embraced technology, instituted a great video replay rule, became a leader in international outreach, and created highly entertaining product at end of the day. I consistently look forward to watching taekwondo at every multi-sport games.
  17. Lamar Taylor wins his NOCs first medal of the Games…and it’s gold in the men’s 50m backstroke!
  18. Romano breaks the Games Record in the 200m and 400m IM
  19. I think they have a large enough buffer for the team technical (and maybe highlight if that also counts) to be okay.
  20. swept the gold medals in modern pentathlon, making them the second NOC to do so across a single sport at the Games.
  21. They’ve been live-streaming to a Facebook page, but no graphics or even formal results available elsewhere
  22. Yeah, it was added to the results system late. Glad to see there were enough entries in this discipline at least.
  23. in canoe slalom. has had good results in trap here and there. with a possible outside shot in teqball maybe.
  24. Boxing quotas from the CAC Games: Men’s 51kg - Men’s 57kg - Men’s 63.5kg - Men’s 71kg - / v. Men’s 80kg - Men’s 92kg - / v. Men’s 92+kg - / v. Women’s 50kg - / v. Women’s 54kg - Women’s 57kg - Women’s 60kg - / v. Women’s 66kg - Women’s 75kg -
  25. It was streamed on here yesterday: https://centrocaribesports.org/ccs-channel/ I don’t know if that’s available in Europe though… Eventing was broadcast as well, including the cross country portion, which was a nice surprise to me.
