  1. Are you dissing the Laguna Caren rollerski races here?!
  2. I would like to make a minor comment on the provisional schedule for @Cinnamon Bun: I just came home from bringing the Brazilian jury to the airport, said jury will be in Sweden during the Grand Final It makes me wonder if 'local time' should be the local time of the country (Brazil), or the local time of where the jury is in this case (Sweden), to avoid confusion (especially since it's a 1-person jury anyway).
  3. Wait, what?
  4. Trump's physical health may still be quite good, indeed. Mental health is a different story, judging by almost all of his speeches where he just gets lost in his own words. But yeah, exactly what you mention: he can literally commit crimes and try and raise a coup, and his electorate won't care at all. That is of course besides the millions of people who might not really want to vote for a person like Trump, but simply believe with his policies they will have a better chance of paying their groceries, which - sad as it is - is definitely an understandable reason.
  5. That is absolutely certain. Any somewhat reasonable politician should be good enough to win against someone like Trump, even with the unfortunate timing (for the Democrats) of having to carry the brunt of the COVID pandemic consequences and so any Republic having a bit of a head start anyway. But yeah, dreadful performance overall from Harris, who seemed to start quite positively, but then just lowered herself to Trump's level in terms of throwing shit at each other. That was a terribly dumb choice, nobody is going to beat Trump at the insult game, as we have seen.
  6. Sorry for missing the draw, I was getting ready for bed when it began and just saw it now Nice to see it so filled with local sports facts though
  7. Told you, of course we would
  8. Haha, this is the most bizarre speech ever And the most predictable ("the greatest, never seen anything like it" etc, from hurricane Helene to Dana White, everything was the most amazing thing ever)
  9. Well, RIP Ukraine, RIP Palestinians, Moldova and Georgia are going to sweat it badly. Also good luck to all the rape victims ending up pregnant and being refused abortions, shouldn't have been raped I guess On the bright side: the chance of a new coup attempt has gone down spectacularly. He is now showing that without a teleprompter, he is not able to make a coherent speech, like, at all Pronounced his dead mother-in-law's name as if he badly wanted to bang her, yikes.
  10. Don't attack Brazil though, I recently found out they have - and are getting more - Gripens How I still wish I could one day see a Draken fly, definitely my number two favourite behind the SR-71 (which I can't forgive my dad about...he once was at an airshow where it flew, long ago, but decided to leave to catch the boat back home and only saw it's shadow...come on man!).
  11. Meanwhile, it's about 7 hours to go until we can really start getting some first results other than the 3-3 in Dixville Notch This is more or less what we're going to start the night with, but probably it's going to come down to Pennsylvania in the end.
  12. Huh, there's still countries buying F-16's? Coincidentally we said goodbye to our last ones a little over a month ago (Belgian ones are still sometimes flying here though).
  13. Yeah, Harris might not be great, it is still definitely better than having an outright psychopath as president, again. At the very least it should be someone who is at least capable and willing to, you know, communicate like an adult. Trump very clearly can not do that, although one would assume his childish yelling and overall immensely bizarre way of speaking (from his intonation to his 'we did great, everyone thought it was great, they couldnt believe how great I was!') must appeal to a certain kind of person, I suppose.
  14. Yeah this was amazing, the entire weekend was one massive rollercoaster every which way for everyone
  15. History in New York yesterday by the way, where Abdi Nageeye became the first ever male major marathon winner from the Netherlands What a run that was, outright beating multiple Boston and NY winners Evans Chebet and Geoffrey Kamworor and Olympic champion + reigning NY winner Tamirat Tola
  16. Hopefully they don't keep expanding too much, or else we get to a situation where the majors lose their value more and more.
  17. I swear, every single time in the New York marathon
  18. But someone who played some of those 'world championships' that aren't really world championships (those lower level things) says it's great, so it's great I wonder, is it also urban?
  19. Today was the Saitama Criterium, kind of the 'closure' of the season, although not very serious. The finish was kind of hilarious, with Girmay clearly having been selected as the winner beforehand
  20. Malevy Leons has made his NBA debut for OKC last night, first time in 13 years there's a Dutch player making time in the NBA Interesting thing is that he's not even the only one, there's not one, but two more Dutch players with an NBA contract this season (but no minutes yet): Jesse Edwards for the Timberwolves and Quinten Post for the Warriors, both will be likely to play in the G League first.
  21. Meanwhile, the finale in Valencia is cancelled, as it should be considering the circumstances there (even if racing was possible, they really shouldn't). Question is still where it will be held now.
  22. It depends on what you all follow I think, for me it's more or less the same as for you I've had one real weekend of watching winter sports (last weekend, with shorttrack and alpine skiing), the next one with multiple sports is still a few weeks away Wengen, Kitzbühel, indeed, then we're well on the way for real.
  23. Bagnaia throwing away basically his last real chances for the world title by going down entirely unprovoked in Malaysia's sprint (with Martin in 1st)
  24. What I'd give simply for the world juniors and such to even be back at Eurosport...those were the days
  25. I was away yesterday, but if the draw is tonight I might be able to help if needed!
