  1. They do have the by far best current Dutch NHL player though
  2. North Korea and the US played the first semifinal at the U17 World Cup last night:
  3. This photo posted by ski crosser Federico Tomasoni, her boyfriend, damn
  4. Matilde Lorenzi has died after a crash, 19 years old
  5. Italian alpine skier Matilde Lorenzi has died during the night after a bad crash in training yesterday, only 19 years old https://www.krone.at/3574860 Two top-10's in the speed disciplines at last season's world junior championships, lots of Europa Cup results and she was Italian super-G champion in quite a strong field (seniors), definitely someone we would have been likely to see in the World Cups in the next few years..
  6. Well yeah, I mean, the best part of Europe is places like Switzerland and Austria with it's mountains, but Kazakhstan has that too Might also be me being the opposite of a sightseeing person. I've been to Barcelona for the 2013 swimming world championships and all I did was go from my hotel to the swimming pool and back twice a day (heats, finals) I did see the Sagrada Familia in the far distance from Montjuïc (where the swimming was held), so...I saw a sight, I guess.
  7. Yeah, but what I mean is: the sliding sports are by far the best sports for a home nation to vastly improve their medal chances, so make sure that track is done before anything else, because that will actually improve the medal chances..
  8. So yeah, yet another big chance thrown away When will countries learn? Once you get the Winter Olympics awarded, the very first step should be finishing the sliding track (if it isn't there already)
  9. And specifically, this is about alpine skiing, I presume?
  10. Time for Mexico During qualifying Perez has humiliated himself even more than he has done most of the season (especially considering it's his home crowd), sadly, hopefully he can find a miracle and pick it up a bit today...
  11. 7th as best result though in the World Cup
  12. Honestly, having a bit less effort into it would still be better than not voting. Both for the organizer as well as for people who voted on, in this case, the Lithuanian song. Then if motivation is still an issue next time, you could consider not participating, but registering a song and then not participating is always a bit of a bummer (definitely not trying to sound harsh or 'attacking' at all, just to make that clear, I know if there's anyone out here who would never 'disrespect' TISC it's certainly you ).
  13. Snowboard cross, got himself a bronze at the Youth Olympics last season! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowboarding_at_the_2024_Winter_Youth_Olympics_–_Men's_snowboard_cross
  14. Cross-country skiing man, I mean, we have a Brazilian Totallympics user who is likely to get a wildcard here or there for the upcoming season and there's a whole fight for the Olympics going on, can't miss that
  15. Next up is beating the record for best ever result in a global international competition (after Bethonico's bronze last season) That's definitely going to happen this season though!
  16. Brazil's best ever World Cup result was a 38th place, by the way
  17. Yeah, but why always make it so....boring? I mean, I have a suitcase upstairs that is entirely full with Brazilian race suits from different years and they are more plain and white than my very Dutch skin Brazil has got one of the most colorful options out there in terms of flags and such, make some bright yellow and green the emphasis or something. Nathan Alborghetti got it, some years ago: Same for Steve Hiestand, who designed and made his own suit and it was awesome, it made it very clear at the first sight that he competes for Brazil. Braathen's suit or the many suits we have at home here could be from like 50+ different nations if you see it from more than 5 meters away.
  18. Especially considering he just entirely depends on Martin crashing, because in terms of pace, Bagnaia, Martin and Marquez are way, way ahead of the rest.
  19. Kind of sad to see that even for their biggest ever superstar the Brazilian federation isn't able to provide a cool suit with 'Brazilian vibes' I guess at least it's better than their million variations on 'white with a tiny touch of green hidden away'.
  20. I'm quite confident it won't be
  21. Does anyone know where to find a country's best ever results? https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/statistics.html?statistictype=positions&sectorcode=AL One would say 'best position', but there you can only select things like '5th or worse', but I want the opposite, all top-X finishes of a country (which one would assume to find when clicking on 'best position').
  22. Here we go with the men, the Hirscher and Braathen hype is up
  23. Marquez going down, once again, from 2nd.
