  1. I'm afraid I don't dance, but I'll join in my mind
  2. They're 13 points behind though Edit: 17 now, thanks to Albania
  3. I guess so I usually listen to most songs without knowing which country they're from (although in some cases it's of course usually hard not to know, like with Portuguese, German, Italian), and this is one of the songs where I had absolutely no idea, at all, which country it could be. Not the first time it happened with Serbia, I think I also gave them 12 points once when they had a very, very Irish song Same with Slovenia this time, which for some reason I was absolutely convinced was from Indonesia (with the 'Hir aj kam, hir aj go')
That's it for the Dutch votes. We're getting into the second half of the competition and with that we wish everyone a lot of fun and a lovely afternoon and/or evening, we'll see you next time!
  5. I think the Dutch jury has very often given 12 points to countries that end up rather high in the ranking, but this may be the - so far - lowest ranked country we've ever given 12 points to Which I find sad, of course, because obviously they get 12 points because I like them the most
  6. I remember last time there was a song with a really catchy trumpet-like start that then disappointed me (not sure which country), but this year's Argentinian song started in a way I really like and kept going nicely
  7. Netherlands Czech Republic 11 Argentina 10 Slovenia 9 Canada 8 Guatemala 7 Brazil 6 Bulgaria 5 New Zealand 4 Great Britain 3 Moldova 2 Spain 1
Good afternoon from the Netherlands! The Dutch jury would like to thank our host @Cinnamon Bun for the tough but thankful task many of us are familiar with: hosting TISC! Thank you for, as ever, a lovely event. We'd also like to thank all the participants for their entries, it was once again lots of fun to listen! Here are the votes for the Dutch jury. Netherlands Argentina 10 Slovenia 9 Canada 8 Guatemala 7 Brazil 6 Bulgaria 5 New Zealand 4 Great Britain 3 Moldova 2 Spain 1
  9. So just to avoid confusion: @Erigert I know it's your voting time in about 1 minute, but don't post your votes yet, we're still waiting for our host to be ready for the Dutch votes and after that it's your turn
  10. is up next! However, the host has asked me to hold back a bit and wait for him to give the green light, to avoid everything snowballing out of control (which I'm sure everyone who has ever hosted TISC can perfectly understand ). So the Dutch jury is ready to post the votes, we're just waiting and entertaining ourselves with some drinks!
  11. Updated the official scoreboard for our buddy @Cinnamon Bun TOISC - GREAT BRITAIN 2024 - Juries Voted 16/34 1 Czech Republic 71 18 Poland 37 1 Sweden 70 19 Brazil 34 3 Mexico 63 19 China 34 4 Canada 62 21 Netherlands 34 5 United States 61 21 Romania 34 5 Argentina 57 23 France 24 7 Chile 55 23 Slovenia 24 8 Spain 53 25 Indonesia 19 9 Denmark 52 25 Lithuania 19 10 Ireland 43 25 Portugal 17 10 Tunisia 43 28 Serbia 16 10 Guatemala 42 28 Turkey 16 10 Bulgaria 41 28 Moldova 15 14 Greece 41 31 New Zealand 15 15 Albania 39 32 Italy 14 15 India 39 33 Great Britain 13 15 Hungary 38 33 Malta 13
  12. Speed skating is on here, the darts will be for the (luckily extensive) highlight videos on YouTube, probably at breakfast tomorrow
  13. Top-10: Medal table: 7th in the medal table, yet 24th in the actual standings, come on
  14. 14th set of votes and now for the first time we have a solo leader that actually holds on to a non-tied 1st place
  15. We might be eliminated, we did win the Angry Looking Dogs on Flags Contest
  16. Meanwhile at the Dutch World Cup qualifiers, we can kind of see that Ghiotto's unofficial WR on the 10k might not survive for very long Lots of especially younger guys are destroying their PB's (both on 5k and 10k) with the 'new' thing of skating the entire race with both arms on the back, including in the turns. I assume Ghiotto used that as well, as it's said to be 0.3 to 0.4 seconds of advantage per lap, which is incredible. Average times in especially the longer distances are going to drop so much
  17. Wait, the Canadian version of Justin Bieber? Where did you think Justin Bieber himself is from?
