  1. Developing a working and viable vaccine for a complicated virus like a coronavirus within 3-4 months sounds a bit too good to be true honestly..
  2. Considering the things very strict religious people and cults and so on seem to actually do sometimes, I wasn't entirely sure I was mostly leaning towards 'probably not'
  3. That's a relief Thanks!
  4. Yeah, rumour has it they are people too. And she herself is 14 years old, next thing you know she's going to go full-on puberty, WTF
  5. Which Tokyo got pretty mad about a few days ago. A little weird I'd say, I get they don't want to lose the event obviously, but if nature forces their hand, how is it bad to have a backup plan? Not that moving it to London is very likely, probably just a publicity stunt from some mayoral dude.
  6. Apparently while skiing something didn't go well and she said "Kut! Kut!" which is a rather common way of saying what in English would be more or less equivalent to "Shit! Shit!" (or maybe more between 'Shit' and 'Fuck'). So no, unless you're a hypersensitive American, there's nothing going on at all
  7. I'm just going to assume the answer is "not very much at all", but just to be sure and because ayatollah sounds Iranian to the untrained ears that I possess, I'm gonna ask for help in determining how serious to take this moron @MHSN
  8. But 2% is way higher than a normal flu..
  9. If you're 15 maybe Dick is a pretty regular Dutch name by the way.
  10. You can also easily replace the word 'Jews' with 'Muslims' or 'non-Muslims' and both will get you many millions of supporters
  11. It's a bit* overdue in terms of results, but Havard Bokko has announced his retirement after the upcoming world championships at home in Hamar. Too bad this is how it ended, in times gone by he showed so much fantastic potential. *this is an understatement
  12. Speed Skating ISU Junior World Championships 2020 The Netherlands won all the women's gold And obviously then as well gold and silver in the main thing, the allround classification, won by mostly top sprinter Femke Kok (world record holder in the 500m for juniors), ahead of Robin Groot. Not much for the men, as per usual. As always with speed skating, the ISU has an excellent results page: https://live.isuresults.eu/events/2020_POL_0002/schedule Stepan Chistiakov is the men's junior world champion by a surprisingly large margin ahead of now former world champion Chung Jaewon and top talent Pavel Taran.
  13. That's another video from a while ago, where people were heard mostly chanting - like in good spirits. In this one it almost sounds like a horror movie, with crying and yelling everywhere.
  14. That's a damn shame, it would have been way better to move it - but obviously I understand it's not that easy, at all.
  15. Didn't Wuhan appoint a new 'leader' of the authorities there a week or two ago? Coincidentally since then, there's basically been no news from Wuhan at all anymore - no regular citizens posting blogs or whatever, nothing. Only a video that, much like half the citizens, went viral: people in the city yelling from out of their appartment buildings.
  16. I know, but if there is no other viable option, it would be possible. I guess ISU prefers that over cancelling it alltogether.
  17. Mostly that is (luckily) an issue, yes. The advantage for the Chinese government is that they just really don't need to worry about silly stuff like human rights
  18. And if part of the first one is literally locking people in their own homes and violently arresting people who might be sick, that is not an easy choice to make.
  19. They can do it in the Netherlands. We don't test, so have no cases, plus the shorttrack infrastructure is here (and the interest is of no question, it'll be sold out in no-time).
  20. Better test her again, since plenty of people have tested negative at first
  21. Plus there's a cruise ship with capacity for 4500 people that's been rejected by the Cayman Islands and Jamaica because of a few sick people on board. Let's see how that goes.
  22. That seems rather unlikely, considering the way it is spreading extremely fast (just look at the Diamond Princess as an example of how contagious it is), although obviously everyone hopes people like you are right
  23. Not a bad idea, although I'll have to practice running with my phone a bit
  24. Sports is never of last concern
