    Actually I do like that there are sprints here, I find the 200m awesome to watch as well as an explosion of power. But 1000m, come on, it's not even four minutes Maybe World Athletics can remove the 1500m and replace it with a 1000m.

    I am aware of that, but that's what makes it awful. This was 1000m of huge tension, why have only half of that? Which logical reason could possibly be behind it?

    I don't know much about ICF, but they must be known as absolutely horrible? I mean, is this event not exciting enough? One of the best finals of the entire Olympics..

    Oh what a final! This becoming a 500m is disgusting (after being an Olympic event since 1936!), this was awesome...

    I find it both odd and so cool that there's a country in the world where sprint canoeing of all things is the only sport in which they're not half-bad

    No superb level in the long jump final, but it definitely is close

    That's why two 1000m's are getting axed in half! Because that's shorter and so, by definition, better!
