  1. If the graphics are somewhat correct, Gidey is a full minute (!) under WR pace
  2. The men are a few seconds behind WR pace after 15km, the leading women are well under WR schedule. Hard to say exactly how much, since the live timing is utterly awful, but they're going fast.
  3. The only news about Shiffrin here is that she won today, which is marginal news by itself By the way, the British Eurosport commentator (another of those generic ones, "This is great skiing by the Swiss athlete!") mentioned Shiffrin dating Kjetil Andre Aamodt. Sort of a variation on the Slovenia/Slovakia thing (which he did as well in run one).
  4. For the safety of the sprint tournament it's probably better than Paul is out, but other than that, damn. He was so close.
  5. Sadly the old Dutch trick of using a half-broken 30 year old bike as your 'stationsfiets' ('train station bike') won't work well for high-performance, I'm afraid But yeah, that's awful. I'm sure the data to recreate them is all there, so that's no problem, but other than emotional value those things are monstrously expensive..twenty bikes, hundreds of thousands of euros in total costs. Makes you wonder, considering the amount of times these things happen, maybe they should bring at least their 'main' bike to the hotel room or something..
  6. Front row for Luca Marini
  7. It's going to be a breath of fresh air to not have Rossi in MotoGP anymore next year...I mean, if he's still enjoying racing, sure, but by this point it's just humiliating. He's not even 1% of a shadow of what he once was anymore.
  8. Yeah, I watched it there, but when writing a small item about a sport with not much interest, it's too empty to not have a video, especially in a sport where it's really just about actually seeing it At least FIS put something on their Twitter account, which is better than nothing.
  9. Ugh, events in Switzerland and so even FIS can't put highlight videos online...or they simply refused to do so, which would be bad too.
  10. And two Italian medals on the rings, what a year.
  11. I thought women's floor was tomorrow
  12. Isn't it incredibly distracting to have a coach standing right underneath/next to the bar, making semi-catching moves all the time?
  13. Loved that Meanwhile I could have easily picked my bike and quickly get my snacks for tonight. It has to be when there's no gymnastics, because that's the only sport today which I can't watch 'non-live' anywhere. It's live or nothing
  14. What is all this nonsense they're doing for half an hour already? I thought they'd have two victory ceremonies and we'd move on to the next finals in 15 minutes, max. Come on, I've got snacks to buy
  15. Wow, 15-year old Zonta van den Goorbergh has signed a Moto2 contract for next year I can't see how that is not way too early, considering he's not really making waves in the junior Moto3 yet...
  16. Did Vlhova borrow a suit from Jelinkova? I like it
  17. Well that is just fantastic.
  18. Gold for Bartolini, Italy is almost literally winning in every single sport this year aren't they
  19. Meanwhile in Misano, damn.
  20. At least it's been a great season in terms of the fight for the title, two absolute top riders until Rea started making mistake after mistake. Razgatlioglu has really proven himself this year The worst thing of this season is the idiotic 5-week break before the last and deciding event. We've been having a great season and now we're being pulled out of the flow entirely only to be dropped back in for what feels like a standalone event somewhere in a place with hopefully more than 6 spectators.
  21. Either Ganna took it way too easy in qualifying, or he's just reaching a (very logical) end of his abilities for this season. Anyhow, he's going for 'only' bronze against Imhof, after which Milan and fastest qualifier Lambie are going to battle it out for gold.
  22. Not sure whether or not it's officially confirmed, but I think I've heard literally nobody who believes Uran made an honest mistake there, it was way, way too obvious And, I mean, it's Vinokourov, few cyclists are more suspicious than him as both a cyclist and a team manager. The term 'he must have received a letter from Vino' whenever a disappointing Astana rider suddenly improves out of nowhere is rather well-known, for example That is without even mentioning the long, long legal process about his LBL win in 2010, which he allegedly bought from Kolobnev (who basically rode like the perfect leadout for Vino), even though the 150.000 euro that was sent by Vino to Kolobnev was explained away as merely 'a loan to my friend'
