  1. A word from our president "First of all, many congratulations to Serbia, @NikolaB and Irish Stew of Sindidun on their first ever Totallympics International Song Contest victory and, as someone who awarded them the maximum score, I can only say it is incredibly deserved - a fact that's made even more clear by the overwhelming victory. Second, huge congratulations to Malta, @Glen and Airport Impressions with a historic first ever medal, which goes to show that one should simply never give up...you never know what's possible! Third, I personally owe a great deal of gratitude towards several people, who have helped me immensely in making the contest possible. I wasn't sure I could do it, mostly due to a severe lack of creativity, but exactly that is where mostly @Olympian1010, @OlympicIRL and @mrv86have been of fantastic value to me, and I definitely won't forget @dcro's efforts for the team competition! Last, but most definitely not least, a big thank you to all who have participated in the contest. I'm amazed at the number of jurors who came here to post their own votes, which always shows a good deal of commitment - nothing against those who didn't, by the way, of course life does sometimes get in the way a little. It would not have been as much fun without each and everyone of you, so from the bottom of my heart: thank you all! Now, lastly, but actually lastly: have a wonderful evening, and see you at the bar!"
  2. Tiebreakers Malta beats Ireland in the battle for bronze, with the smallest of the island nations having received points from 22 national juries...a single jury more than Ireland's 21. India and France tied for fifth place and both received points from an impressive 17 juries. However, France received two scores of 12 points, whereas India received none, leading to France denying the world's second most populous nation a first ever top-5 finish. The Netherlands, Argentina and Romania tied for 11th, which goes to the host nation: their score of receiving votes from 14 nations is one higher than the other two. Romania got a single 12-pointer, Argentina did not, and so 12th goes to Romania. Every position where a tie might be involved is the subject of severe scrutineering! China and Portugal, after a recount, ended up being tied for 18th place. China received points from 13 nations, which is four more than Portugal, and so the Asian giant gets the position. Indonesia and the United States fought heavily over 20th place, which went to the Asian nation with 11 against 8 in terms of number of nations they've received votes from. Spain got points from 10 nations, one more than Croatia, and so took away the 25th spot. Israel and Tunisia were in the running for 28th; it went to Tunisia, which received votes from seven juries, two more than Israel. Last, but definitely not least: Greece and Mexico and their battle for 32nd. It was won by Greece, with 6 nations voting for them against Mexico's 5 nations.
  3. And so we have reached ourselves a conclusion...points have been splintered, ties have been broken...and here we have it, the final standings of the 2020 Totallympics Open International Song Contest! Final Scoreboard TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 China 18 67 Serbia 1 237 Portugal 19 67 Canada 2 165 Indonesia 20 62 Malta 3 143 United States 21 62 Ireland 4 143 Italy 22 57 France 5 124 Denmark 23 56 India 6 124 Poland 24 48 Germany 7 118 Spain 25 44 Lithuania 8 109 Croatia 26 44 Kazakhstan 9 99 Slovenia 27 41 New Zealand 10 91 Egypt 28 40 Netherlands 11 85 Tunisia 29 39 Romania 12 85 Israel 30 39 Argentina 13 85 Slovakia 31 36 Brazil 14 82 Greece 32 35 Moldova 15 79 Mexico 33 35 Czech Republic 16 77 Hungary 34 23 Great Britain 17 75 Bulgaria 35 14 There can, however, be only one winner and with an overwhelming performance, that honour goes to Serbia! Please turn up the volume and make way for a final performance of the TOISC 2020 champions: Irish Stew of Sindidun - Lady of New Tomorrow!
  4. Which I find double as impressive considering Zombie had the advantage of already being a very big international hit for a very long time, whereas I'm sure most people here had never heard Lady of New Tomorrow.
  5. That's what I was going to break the ties with at first, until I thought "Hmm, let's actually read the rules before I do that"
  6. All ties will be broken and clarified as soon as Malta's 12 points have been posted, no worries But Malta's first ever medal has been secured, as is now clear
  7. Malta giving Ireland the 2 points it needed to draw level in points @dcro Didn't you say Ireland was 2 points behind France in the overall ranking for bronze?
  8. The battle for bronze reaches a bit of an epic climax....and it's all in the hands of one of the nations involved! Mexico has given Malta a 2-point lead over Ireland, but with Malta being the only nation left to vote, the question is fairly simple: will they keep the bronze or will they, in a rather painful state of affairs, give it away to the Irish? Juries voted so far: 34 / 35 Next jury: Malta TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 Portugal 18 67 Serbia 1 226 China 19 63 Canada 2 153 United States 20 62 Malta 3 143 Denmark 21 56 Ireland 4 141 Indonesia 22 54 France 5 124 Italy 23 52 India 6 115 Poland 24 48 Germany 7 108 Croatia 25 44 Lithuania 8 103 Slovenia 26 41 Kazakhstan 9 99 Spain 26 41 New Zealand 10 91 Egypt 28 40 Romania 11 85 Israel 29 39 Argentina 12 84 Tunisia 29 39 Brazil 13 82 Slovakia 31 36 Moldova 14 79 Greece 32 35 Netherlands 15 78 Mexico 32 35 Czech Republic 16 77 Hungary 34 23 Great Britain 17 75 Bulgaria 35 14 As mentioned, Malta is up next to decide the final ranking and, most importantly, decide whether or not they will get their first ever medal! @Glen, the floor is all yours!
  9. Aren't there like 150 active members who basically only post in the Indian national thread?
  10. Oh no, we gonna rock down to Electric Avenue And then we'll take it higher Oh we gonna rock down to Electric Avenue And then we'll take it higher
  11. Thanks to Greece, Canada has most likely taken the silver medal, unless a true miracle follows...? Ireland and Malta remain nearly as close as possible with only two juries to go...including Malta. Juries voted so far: 33 / 35 Next jury: Mexico TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 Portugal 18 66 Serbia 1 215 China 19 63 Canada 2 153 United States 20 62 Ireland 3 132 Denmark 21 56 Malta 4 131 Indonesia 22 54 France 5 117 Italy 23 52 India 6 115 Poland 24 48 Germany 7 108 Croatia 25 44 Lithuania 8 103 Slovenia 26 41 Kazakhstan 9 96 Spain 26 41 New Zealand 10 85 Israel 28 39 Brazil 11 82 Tunisia 28 39 Romania 12 81 Egypt 30 38 Netherlands 13 78 Slovakia 31 36 Great Britain 14 75 Mexico 32 35 Argentina 15 74 Greece 32 35 Moldova 15 74 Hungary 34 23 Czech Republic 17 69 Bulgaria 35 14 First though, we go to Mexico, where @mrv86 might or might not be ready to share the votes...if you're here, please do let us know!
  12. I think I can say I literally know Dua Lipa only thanks to Totallympcs My surprise was fairly big when I discovered she's a billion+ views superstar...
  13. That's fine too, I'll search the songs I don't immediately know myself then
  14. Malta hits back fiercely in the battle for bronze, although both the little island nation and Ireland might even still be in the hunt for silver! France and India battle it out for 5th, whereas Lithuania cheers for a first 100+ point result in more than three years Juries voted so far: 32 / 35 Next jury: Greece TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 China 18 62 Serbia 1 207 Denmark 19 56 Canada 2 146 Portugal 19 56 Malta 3 131 Indonesia 21 54 Ireland 4 130 United States 22 53 France 5 117 Italy 23 52 India 6 115 Poland 24 48 Lithuania 7 103 Croatia 25 44 Germany 8 96 Slovenia 26 41 Kazakhstan 8 96 Spain 26 41 New Zealand 10 85 Israel 28 39 Brazil 11 78 Tunisia 28 39 Romania 12 76 Slovakia 30 36 Great Britain 13 75 Egypt 31 35 Argentina 14 74 Greece 31 35 Moldova 14 74 Mexico 33 24 Netherlands 16 72 Hungary 34 23 Czech Republic 17 69 Bulgaria 35 14 With only three juries to go, we hand it over to @Janakis, who can tell us the outcome of the Greek jury's voting process.
  15. And out of the blue, our Kazakh friend shows up as well Really happy how many nations posted their own votes
  16. Ireland deals a huge blow in the fight for bronze, a position they are now all of a sudden holding in their hands. Out of nowhere, Israel receives a whole new package full of points, they are catapulted into a very respectable mid-pack position. Juries voted so far: 31 / 35 Next jury: Kazakhstan TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 Denmark 18 56 Serbia 1 202 Portugal 18 56 Canada 2 135 Indonesia 20 54 Ireland 3 130 China 21 50 Malta 4 122 Italy 22 49 France 5 115 United States 22 49 India 6 108 Poland 24 48 Kazakhstan 7 96 Croatia 25 44 Lithuania 8 95 Slovenia 26 41 Germany 9 86 Spain 26 41 New Zealand 10 85 Israel 28 39 Brazil 11 78 Tunisia 28 39 Argentina 12 74 Slovakia 30 36 Great Britain 12 74 Egypt 31 35 Moldova 12 74 Greece 31 35 Netherlands 15 72 Mexico 33 24 Romania 16 70 Hungary 34 23 Czech Republic 17 69 Bulgaria 35 14 Kazakhstan is up next, @Ruslan, the microphone is yours!
  17. Right, that's why I'd like to have a big file with all TISC MP3's in it, I've always found offline files way more practical than Spotify or something
