  1. 8.00m PB and a massive plus for Neugebauer
  2. Mayer is so clearly still injured, he really, really needs someone to tell him "dude, the fuck are you doing, quit this right now and focus on Paris".
  3. That is serious stuff already. Warner on the other hand with 7.63 (?) so far, which is not even close to good enough.
  4. "Video not available" but now I am curious
  5. Can't decently follow a decathlon without a forecast obviously, so here is the one of ten7events based on everyone's decathlon PB. Not ideal, because it also counts PB's from like 6 years ago (there used to be one which counted mostly the past two years or so), but it is still a lot better than nothing to give a sense of how good certain results really are (so one can see that for example a 10.90 for Kaul would be WAY WAY better than a 10.40 for Warner): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KDPhuokybKcTLiISQ9Sq5pcIINbkUkCU/view
  6. Can't wait for tomorrow with once-every-two-years commentators talking about the insane comeback from Kaul, coming from well outside of the top-15 into the top-6 or so in the last two events, as would of course be totally expected given his qualities
  7. Some strong freelancers though. Especially Sweden has a small but definitely not weak team with Brorsson, Skottheim, Femling (and Brandt) Brorsson leading the west, Davidova the east, presumably.
  8. Quickly went to check.....yeah noooooo thanks
  9. Right, without the cornhole and/or spikeball things (whatever those are), this is exactly the way it is seen here, sadly Of course there's some people who are enthousiastic about it, but the number is....tiny.
  10. Yeah that was not the smartest thing ever by a mascot
  11. Yeah, only a fall or injury (or a crash with those golf cars) could have stopped her from winning this, on quality there was no way anyone was going to beat her. Arguably the most predictable gold of the entire championships (I forgot the prediction contest, but I assume basically everyone there had the Bol - Little combo )
  12. Meanwhile on Eurosport Iwan Thomas is saying he doesn't believe anyone except for Hudson-Smith can be world champion next time. That's quite a thing to say in one of the most open events in athletics
  13. If she keeps developing the current way, for sure! Although I'm not sure she's just going to beat all of them, going from say 50.5 to 49.5 is a lot 'easier' than from 49.5 to 48.7/8
  14. Or, as it is now, this is apparently the thread for the 'Rowing World Rowing World Championships' Ah how I love the unnecessary double use of words in titles Too bad UCI isn't called 'World Cycling' yet, so we could have the World Cycling Road Cycling World Championships.
  15. I thought the Chinese guy would do pretty well after his good start, but He has fallen back quite a lot.
  16. Black humor about dead Russian fascists? Yeah do bring it on please
  17. Is there as much discussion in your countries about race walking 'being ridiculous' and 'why is not every single athlete thrown out?' and 'why is this a sport if clearly everyone breaks the rules all the time' and so on? I mean, outside of European/world athletics championships and the Olympics of course nobody here watches a second of race walking, but during those events, it's the exact same discussion every time
  18. The video is from three days ago though. At least that's when it was first posted, it can of course be older than that.
  19. To be fair, if he was, he would probably not have ordered the plane to be accidentally brought down
  20. Does it have to be in front of the cameras though? Perfectly good chance somewhere behind the scenes he quickly congratulated him or something. And if not, honest "I dont want to" is still way better than those fake hugs one especially sees often in the women's (sprint) events, where they give those weird air hug things without even a single look towards each other, entirely because of the cameras
  21. Beat all of the above is in, dominate the event? Because that's something we hear from every very talented athlete, but most of them 'just' end up being very good, instead of constantly beating the rest
  22. To think it's probably hosted in AWS or Azure or something, with automatic scaling being easily implemented, so the extra investment would end up giving extra costs for like one hour a day for one week every two years because an hour or so after the session is done, they can automatically scale back down
  23. You can't be called 'The Olympic champion', but are 'one of the Olympic champions'. I know, semantics, but if you're a very competitive athlete, it would be perfectly understandable for that to matter. If I wanted to train my whole life to be one of the champions instead if the champion, I'd do a team sport Moon clearly wanted to go for it, but yeah...she was noped out of it by Kennedy
  24. Only good thing about this shared thing is we don't end up with 4.50m or something for gold.
