  1. revolutionary results in the last events of the tournament! so, the USA are the new absolute powerhouse in Fencing... more and more Countries are getting close to the top (if not getting there)... and the dark times are coming for Italy, who had basically a disastrous competition in almost all the individual events (especially among the juniors) and they just saved the face with a couple of team gold medals (which are not so important as the individual ones in the youth classes)...

  4. maybe we'll see something at the World Champs/European Champs of some classes... and we always have the great show of the Sail Grand Prix with the America's Cup boats...
  5. that 3.41 by Martens just killed me... but the 400m free are stuck on 3.43/3.44 since too much time, so it's quite logical to see them movin' on and set new standards of global excellence... I think that by Paris 2024 the medals could be close (if not below) the current WR set by Biedermann in 2009 with the rubbish...ops, I meant rubber suits...
  6. I don't agree...by doing that, you only favour the powerhouses and cut all the small teams' chances to get any medal... we already have the world cup series and the world and continental champs to show the world how Japan are way better than the rest of the world... the Olympic Games are so attractive also because they are a battle of Nations, it would be very boring to watch almost always a JPN vs JPN gold medal match and you would lose at least 90% of viewers very quickly (keeping only the die hard fans and throwing the sport out of the Games, because the public interest for Judo outside the Olympics is very low, unfortunately)...
  7. unfortunately, we only have micro-highlights, no full races nor extended summaries... https://www.trofeoprincesasofia.org/en/default/races/race-video

  16. actually, the Light Welterweights had that exact 63.5kg limit from 1952 through 2000, only in 2004 they started to change weight classes in order to have less events contested and the half kilo class was cancelled (going up to 64 first, then going down to 63 in 2020)...
