  1. Watched all the bouts.... ... Mary....... A pleasure to watch..... Good defense strong offense....... The best boxing brain and a lovely style.. . Can go all the way..... Has a tough match against turkey who is the European champ Manju played very well against the much taller world number one...... A very amit like bout.... Go low.... Go in score and out.... Worked for her...... Jamuna - wow one of the best boxers I have seen, very Mary kom style upright.... Good offense and defense..... Very impressed.... Very young on her debut..... She may want contest the Olympic weight category 57 based on her performance here Lovlina..... Really fast and light boxer...... She should be nicknamed lightning..... But still has to work on her footwork..... Fell over at least 4 times was scared she will be penalised for it...... Kavita..... Good boxer but well past her prime needs to give way like sarita for some one younger .... Was beaten by a faster BLR boxer
  2. Three Indian men in action at the Dutch open BWF round of 16 , also Indians in world junior badminton
  3. QFs Manju tough she fights against the world number 1 Kim of NKorea Mary Fights against Rio bronze medallist from Colombia..... 50:50 with edge to Mary Jamuna bora fights against a GER, I think jamuna had edge...... Jamuna has been boxing beautifully Lovlina fights the European champ from poland and lovlina too had been boxing beautifully..... I think lovlina has a edge Kavita has a good draw fights the BLR boxer, I think kavita may have an edge The story till now I watched the other bouts as I had said sarita needs to be replaced..... Her form was terrible Saweety was reasonable.... Lost a close bout to world no 2 in the round Neeraj was cheated out by the refs Nandini was possibly on form the worst of our boxers Manju bamboriya was reasonable
  4. Both jamuna and lovlina had brilliant bouts, jamuna absolutely dominated her bout against the 4th seeded algerian, and lovlina was light footed and accurate ........ Still upset over the total fake scoring against neeraj she deserved to be in the 6th QF
  5. Mary kon wins, saweety- loses
  6. i just saw her first out , she won against the THA boxer but her skills and accuracy are still brilliant .......The bout was hers clearly , I am not sure she needs any AIBA support
  7. I remember seeing these ranking and jetlee was coming up well in the juniors as well
  8. Completely faltu body......q
  9. I found out newspapers also are coming out saying the bout I mentioned above was fixed.......... Normally the newspapers toe the AIBA Line as I guess they do not want to lose some privilege..... But in this case I think they found it too much........ This is what they said ....... "1Earlier, Phogat was clearly superior and kept her composure against an opponent, who hardly showed any technique. Flinging her arms aimlessly, defending awkwardly and grunting relentlessly, Jieru even coped a warning for excessive holding. But in a stunning call, the judges gave her the nod, leaving the Indian dejected. Phogat was competing in her debut world championship. The Indian contingent officially protested against the decision as per the new norms introduced by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) to ensure better judging. However, their appeal was turned down by the technical committee. According to the rules, teams are entitled to two unsuccessful protests. The coaches are required to raise a yellow card within a minute of the bout getting over and follow it up by paying USD 1000 within half an hour to seek a review of any decision. The technical committee has the discretion to accept or reject a protest but once it chooses to accept, a decision is made only at the end of the day's session." I think AIBA will never learn........ You need to see the bout to laugh at the decision
  10. What a total shambles of a tournament...... It is completely loosing any justification for being a sport and becoming a traversity ..... Just watch IND vs CHN in the second bout in B Ring today .... The CHN was barely able to get a blow in, she looked absolutely awful and was penalised for excessively holding., was knocked down ... Then they gave it 3-2 to the Chinese...... The scores for India 30-27 , 30-27 ...... The points for CHN 28-28 , 28-28 28-28 but adv china..... I mean absolute crap....... I will continue watch only because AIBA is not going to be involved in the olympics
  11. What a total shambles of a tournament...... It is completely loosing any justification for being a sport and becoming a traversity ..... Just watch IND vs CHN in the second bout in B Ring today ( day 3 Ring B around the 1 hr mark ....
  12. he is out ...... such a poor attempt compared to his PB
  13. A really exciting schedule
  14. What awful scores....... What made this performance so lousy...... Must confess did not watch the race .....normally would expect to see a 1:17 or 1:18
  15. Good performance..... Beating the NR twice
  16. cannot agree more ...did see your data on India - Pak ODI - That was good indicator of the fall of Pak sports .......as per my analysis on the atheltics data ...medals will happen next 3-4 years , possibly 2024 we will realise our first atheletics medal at the olympics ....we are close right now but neeraj chopra has to get healthy or Hima has top improve on her PB by one second and hima will come through to the mixed 4*400 where her time difference 50.7 with Jisna 52.7 will cut two seconds and bring us into the realm of an unlikely but possible victory from being the 5th best side
  17. My take on the situation , careful tracking is required to understand what is happening in a sport three predictive indicators for the success of a country at a sport are ( I work in analytics so sorry my terminology may go towards 1. Performance in the World championship 2. World ranking 3. Medals at a junior level For example today we are a dominant player in Shooting , we could have predicted this 3-4 years ago when our junior team started getting many medals at the Junior world cup Now coming strictly to atheletics performance in the world championship ( number of Indian Finalists ) 2009 - 0 2011- 2 2013-1 2015 - 3 2017 -2 2019 - 3( already hoping for at least 1 more ) I think that is a good improvement especially if we touch 4 since we have 3 of our best atheletes injured - Hima , Neeraj and Dharun ( rajiv Arokia was also injured ) ...... This affected our performance heavily in 3 events as well as all the three 4*400 relays Coming to world ranking ( this is from my tracking files ) sept 10th-06 oct 1st -06 Feb-07 august 10th-08 Feb-09 nov10 sept11 Aug-12 Dec-15 Subtotals- mens - atheletics top 100 5 5 5 15 15 20 16 17 22 Top 10 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 In 11-25 0 0 0 2 2 4 3 3 4 In 25-50 1 1 1 5 5 3 2 1 6 fifty plus 4 4 4 8 8 12 10 12 13 currently we are having close to 30 in the top 100 in world ranking if I am not mistaken ( and at least 1 in the top 10 Also at the junior level we have had 2 Gold medals recently .............................. so my prediction If the same rate of increase continues we should have some atheletics medals in the next 3-4 years in world atheletics
  18. stayed up to watch Jinson .......disappointed he was well off his personal best ............. finished 10th and is out
  19. Saw the bout to get a sense of it First round - Fadda dominated clearly her round Second round - More even in terms of punches hitting , The MGL boxer fell down after a blow , : I would give to Fadda again Third Round - Faddas punches were a bit wild , MGL landed more punches and more effective than camilla - I would give the Round to MGL Overall though I felt Fadda was dominant and I would expect a 4-1 or 5-0 in her favour , a 3-2 was ridiculous , The judges who ruled in Fadda gave it 30-27 ,whereas the others gave it marginally to MGL ......... Just another of AIBAs Crap decisions
  20. Sad to see Indias only medal hope / even final hope not there due to Injury.... Dila karmakar is having recurring injury problems
  21. Russia is not very well known for its women boxers so you should have a reasonable chance
  22. chitra as expected was hopelessly outclassed but she still did her PB so good job by her
  23. and coming to commonwealth games 2018 India( 26-20-20 ) did defeat Canada( 15-40-27 ) by a huge margin Pakistan incidentally 1-0-4 just proves my point
  24. I think comparing India with Pakistan the Asian stage is a fair stage but look at the Asians stats for a minute AG -1954 ( just after independence ) ....India 17 medals ( 5G ) , Pakistan 13 ( 5G) - head to head and this was the case for the next 12 years or so .............. Skip to 2018 - last Asian games ......... India 70 Medals ( 16 G ) ......... Pakistan 4 medals ( all bronze )............ You can see there is no comparison as to who is doing worse in sport ...... stats similar for commonwealth games Coming to Olympic games our nadir was in the 60s to 90s ........we went down in all the sports terribly of course hockey was the exemplar ......but now we are on an upswing and I think 2020 is the olympics we will arrive on the world stage and I think ( mark my words ) we will probably have our first double digit score in the olympics and it will get only better in 2024 ........
