Asian shooting championship .....Pretty excited...... For India the critical event is the men's 10m rifle....... We have closed out 7 / 8 quotas in the 10M events...... If we close this quota we will have the full quota of 12/12 including the mixed pairs...... That is the group we hope to dominate....... In the 25m events we have 1/4 quotas and with Manu being a double header in the women .... I am hoping for two quotas one in men and the other in women......... And in the 50m events we have a 1/4 so possibly at least one quota place In shotgun we have really struggled with 0 quotas so possibly one or two quotas...... So hopefully 4-5 quota places........

Indian steady improvement is building up in GR....... We were absolute no hopers at the world level...... Barring a couple of names like pappu yadav........ But now at the end of day 1 of GR...... Sajan kumar who is the best GR wrestler currently lost the Semis closely and I feel will medal tomorrow in 77 GR ..... Halakuri played well lost closely to RUS in the QF in the lowest weight and will play in the repechage and then we have sunil still alive in repechage so three will vie for medals tomorrow and both sajsn and halakuri have a good chancefor a medal ..... @MHSN how do you rate these two and chances of a medal...... Also tomorrow both Ravinder and Sachin are better known Indians in GR so

Russia played very well.... They just did not have the finishing skills, but played at a high pace in the midfield with spot in passes.... Indians passing was poor but had a couple of pieces of magic

IMHO 1) currently the scoring system is the most opaque system where there is absolutely no sense why the bout is given to the BLUE Or RED corner.... . so any change is good 2) The judges have absolute power to score and there is no check pts ...... so showing the scores live with a certain number of referrals would help....... Any corruption would show up easily 3) The problem with the pt based scoring system..... Boxers started adopting a high shell guard and boxers would just crouch and occasionally poke at others......bouts started resembling two turtles ? hitting each other... So +es and -es........ But far more positives than negatives

I like the idea as it helps junior wrestlers transition to the seniors...........also helps build the second string in weight classes where they may be a good wrestler already established...... Ravi who won a bronze in 57 at the world Championships for India came up through the u23 championships .....

Actually..... The CWG is dominated by ENGLAND and AUSTRALIA to the point that they do not allow any voice of other nations...... Many decisions in shooting, weightlifting have been anti india snd i guess that's what batra is saying

Would agree I think ashwini - satwik would need to play in multiple tournaments to even qualify...... While the focus should be to qualify in the top 8 in men doubles and ensure seeding in Olympics

They have defeated three top ten players including world number 2 ...... Great effort .... I hope they can maintain this for the next few tournaments and be seeded in the top 8 for tokyo ..... Then they can be a genuine medal contender

My logic is that AIBA is suspended....... Primarily because there was 1. rampant match fixing 2. Financial irregularities.... If there is a athelete protesting match fixing I think it only strengthen s IOC hand...... So i believe that they will not take any suspension into account...... I also believe the fact that the entire Dutch team stayed away is because they knew this..... They never work in such a concerted manner unless they were sure the team would not get suspended from olympics because of this

but the IOC having discredited AIBA and having their own qualifiers ......... AIBA can at best say that she cannot participate in further AIBA world championships but will not have any voice in the olympic qualifiers ........ which why Netherlands probably felt they could afford to do this

I do not think you need to worry about that as AIBA is not involved with the qualifiers
