  1. When is the first realistic medal chance of the Games for your nation? Day 2 with the 10km pistol shooting final (Anna Korakaki and Christina Moschi), but it's too random of a sport to expect it, also small chance that day in the men's 400 individual medley with Apostolos Papastamos. When do you think your nation will get their first medal and in which event? Day 5 - Elisavet Teltsidou in judo hopefully Is there a bumper day for your nation where you expect more than one or a few medals to come? If so, what day? Days 7-10, a lot going on, also at the end potentially if we go far in wrestling and team sports. Is there a day when you expect to have not so much competitors from your nation competing or no chances for medals? Day 1 as always, Day 4 too.
  2. They wouldn't have gotten in. The others only got in because of the "singles priority" rule and protected rankings.
  3. I have nothing nice to say about her, sorry. One of my least favourite sportspeople of all time.
  4. He played in men's doubles but lost in the first round. Speaking of Raducanu, Sakkari losing to that thing again was so embarrassing
  5. Caroline Wozniacki Sara Errani Danielle Collins Alexander Zverev Tommy Paul
  6. I'm worried about today's game. We usually beat Croatia and now we are at home, but we have been winning too easily this week and given our history of choking in OQTs, I am scared. Also I was supposed to go yesterday but I've been sick the last few days so I gave my tickets to a friend . I am feeling better but won't be going just for today (I live 5 hours away by car), so it will be a bit bittersweet if we qualify.
  7. I was very young but I have a lot of memories from 2004. Unfortunately, none from water polo.
  8. Water Polo (26) Alexandra Asimaki (women's team) Ioanna Chydirioti (women's team) Chrysoula Diamantopoulou (women's team) Nikoleta Eleftheriadou (women's team) Athina Giannopoulou (women's team) Maria Myriokefalitaki (women's team) Eirini Ninou (women's team) Maria Patra (women's team) Eleftheria Plevritou (women's team) Margarita Plevritou (women's team) Vasiliki Plevritou (women's team) Ioanna Stamatopoulou (women's team) Eleni Xenaki (women's team) Men's team (13
  9. TEAM 1. Ioanna Stamatopoulou 2. Eleftheria Plevritou 3. Ioanna Chydirioti 4. Nikoleta Eleftheriadou 5. Margarita Plevritou 6. Eleni Xenaki 7. Alexandra Asimaki 8. Maria Patra 9. Eirini Ninou 10. Vasiliki Plevritou 11. Athina Giannopoulou 12. Maria Myriokefalitaki 13. Chrysoula Diamantopoulou Coach: Alexia Kammenou Great to be back at the Games! First time since 2008 for these girls, and Alexandra Asimaki is the only one left from that team. Asimaki is also the only player over 29 on this team, so aside from her we have a pretty young team and everyone else should be able to make it to 2028 as well.
  10. Yes, I remember for Tokyo they updated little by little, it was more exciting that way, I guess now it will be done all at once.
  11. Sorry if this was answered already (it's hard to go through 100+ pages), but when will WA start showing rejected quotas on the Road to Paris? I remember for the Road to Tokyo they were updating it every day after the qualification period so we gradually saw athletes move into qualifying positions.
  12. Good start for us, 109-82 win vs , but of course the real tournament begins on Saturday! Giannis was very good with 32 points (11 for 11 FG) in 18 mins played. Also our team went 16 for 31 from 3 points, but of course under pressure this weekend I'm sure it won't be anywhere near as good Also surprising that Papagiannis who is 217cm went 2 for 2 from 3 points
  13. Oh we have plenty of that in Greece as well. People said that about our football team at Euro 2012 and 2014 FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile our team actually made the knockout stages and some Greeks still complained that we sucked
  14. I don't understand how these countries can do that to their athletes. If the Hellenic Olympic Committee did that, I'd show up outside their offices and start World War III.
  15. Also I think there is definitely a rise in this type of extreme nationalism. Maybe we aren't used to seeing Albania on the global stage but I remember Turkey making the semifinals of the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2008 and don't recall any behaviours like this back then. Demiral was also one of the players who had that controversial military salute a few years ago...
  16. That gesture is actually banned in some other European countries like France and Austria from what I am reading. It's too bad Bulgaria hasn't qualified for anything since 2004. They are the only ones of our 4 neighbours who don't act like this.
  17. 15 yo Ntoumas is also swimming here right before the Olympics, though in his case the expectations for him to do well in Paris are very low, he is only going to be in a relay.
  18. Another player from another team in this region acting this way...
  19. Does anyone know if all three Cuban male triple jumpers will participate in Paris? Two of them haven't competed in Cuba in over a year, so I'm not sure if they are exiled or what?
  20. Tennis (3) Maria Sakkari (women's singles, mixed doubles) Petros Tsitsipas (men's doubles) Stefanos Tsitsipas (men's singles, men's doubles, mixed doubles)
  21. So we qualified 4 via entry standard and 9 via ranking. Now we have: 1 out - Panagiota Dosi (women's high jump) 2 out - Alexandros Papamichail and Panagiota Tsinopoulou (mixed walk relay) 3 out - Konstantinos Zaltos (men's hammer throw) 3 out - Dimitrios Tsiamis (men's triple jump) 3 out - Christina Papadopoulou (women's 20km walk - if they fix the ranking) Of course there are others but I think anyone who is more than 3 out is unlikely to get in. We already heard rumours here that Dosi will get in and Zaltos will move up two spots so let's see. Also Hodebar is 2 out of the men's triple jump, will his quota also be refused? @De_Gambassi
