Kuwait has already one fencer qualified in sabre, will they still be considered in epee/foil? I guess having no women competing lower their chances.

Also, will participation in the Zonal QT be taken into account? :ISV for example has a decently placed woman in epee but haven't entered her so far for the tournament, while they did enter a couple fencers in other weapons.

I forgot Kuwait already got a quota. I was thinking men's sabre for them.

There's no participation requirements for tripartite athletes in fencing. In other sports, I've seen nations which did not participate at all get tripartite quotas.

I would have thought Morocco :MAR would place better with more gold than 9.

Also, Egypt :EGY first time a nation wins 100+ gold medals in one edition. Impressive!

Historically, Morocco has not had a good relationship with the African Games due to its stance on Western Sahara. It was only in 2019 that they were allowed to return.

With the quota today Samoa will have a squad of over 20 for the first time.

    16 already qualified+ 2 swimming+ 1 athletics + 2 weightlifting. Could be a few more

There's a good chance Samoa may not be eligible for a tripartite quota next Olympics. Team sport quotas don't count, but individual wise they are up to four and along with the five quotas you listed, they will also likely get a spot in judo and maybe in taekwondo.

With that said, they haven't made use of tripartite quotas in a long time so it's not a big loss.

a last minute takedown to win the second quota for Guam :)

I think they are in the same weight, but one of them had to make the sacrifice and go to the next weight. it was the other way around in Tokyo , this time it worked for both of them

I think Rckaela is the better wrestler and with no Nigerian in this event it was seen as the best option to maximize their chances. Lucky for Mia, she also avoided Nigeria and now both get to compete at the Olympics
