Here are the relevant A and B Finals for the events:
M1x
Final A -
Final B -
LM2x
Final A -
W1x
Final A -
Final B -
LW2x
Final A -
Brazil still has all four boats in the A finals while Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Peru have three boats in A finals.
There's a good chance Chile will qualify in one of the lightweight boats which means the men's single sculls might be decided before the race is even held. Likewise, Argentina winning both lightweight boat quotas is possible which means the women's single sculls quota would be decided. The B final in the single sculls might become a factor, but that requires Brazil (or Paraguay/Peru) to qualify in at least one lightweight boat, but right now they are favoured to qualify in the single sculls.
Bermuda making the A Final has placed them in a very good position to qualify to the Olympics.

well. you can't be luckier than this Abbasi guy
he even lost a round to Nepal. but managed to win some close matches and in the SF, he lost the 1st round and was trailing in the 2nd round too but then he landed a big big kick and the HKG guy probably didn't notice the count, therefore didn't say " I'm ready" to the ref and lost by RSC.
I know some people here think this refugee idea is cool and nice but it's not. this guy Abbasi was representing Afghanistan until few months ago (I mean even years after the fall of Kabul, it's not like he fled the country when the savages of Taliban arrived)
Afghanistan can send only 2 athletes here (like everybody else) they have two much better athletes in 58kg and +80kg. so this guy probably thought OK I can apply to be in "King Tommy team" and found a shortcut to the Olympics.
if anybody with a refugee status can participate, then each country should be allowed to send so many as they want. I mean if you can't make the national team , you can always easily make the refugee team. you don't have to be a real refugee. King Tommy accepts everybody.
The refugee team should have the same restrictions as the other nations, two men and two women attempting to qualify overall (I'm okay with them competing in the continent they are currently living in). The European qualifier had three men and two women while the Asian qualifier has four men competing.
Adding the restriction would at least decrease the chance of someone trying to use this as a loophole to compete at the Olympics.

Entries for the Oceania CQT

Women
Winner qualifies to the Olympics. New Zealand will be the heavy favourites for the quotas, but there's a good chance they may reject the quota so things open up for the Pacific Nations.

After the heats here's how the quota simulation is looking. Comparing between heats isn't a great idea plus some athletes might be resting, but it's fun to see where things stand.

LM2x -
W1x -
LW2x -
Mexico and Chile could have qualified in the men's single sculls, but the limit prevented them. As Brazil is currently second in both the M1x and LM2x I assume they want more athletes, but that may not be the case. If they go for the M1x the LM2x quota would go to Venezuela (leapfrogging Chile due to the limit).
Still lots of racing to go.

As a reminder, NOCs which qualified one boat at the World Championships can only qualify one boat here, unless two boats finish first. The following nations fit this criteria:
Everyone else can qualify a maximum of two boats.

Yeah, if the semis are any indication, Canada will likely finish first in women's K1.
Canada may keep the C1 quota regardless and just have her compete in both events.
-
-
So according to the qualification document, Canada is not eligible for the K1 quotas as a nation can only earn a maximum of one quota per gender.
Not sure if we are allowed to decline the C1 quota and get the K1 (assuming we finish first). We might have that situation with the women.

I would say, the lawyers must be ready for the great battle.
The ITF rules clearly say: they can make all that russians eligible as an exception.
But that will only allow the NOC to nominate that player.
And the russian NOC is suspended by the IOC (the appeal was lost). So ROC cannot perform NOC`s functions and cannot nominate players.
Thus every tennis player who loses his/her place at the Olympics because of ITF exceptions for russians will be able to appeal to CAS to get his/her place back.
And nobody can predict the outcome )
You are reading this too literally. In the case of Russia and Belarus, the sport federation is effectively the NOC now and decides who to nominate (which will be the highest ranked athletes/individual who qualified the quota).
I understand you really don't want them to compete, but if you think a rule in the qualification document is going to prevent them from competing then you are greatly mistaken. The best way for Russia to not compete is if the government decides not to go (Belarus will compete unless Russia forces them to boycott).

This is very interesting article 😅😅😅. ITF has allowed Russian and Belorussian athletes to compete in Paris. But at the same time, non of them can do that. As one of the most important rule is to represent your country in Davis Cup or Billie Jean King Cup. And They weren't allowed to participate since 2021. So what now? They will try to apply for an exception? Would it actually work? I am wondering, is ITF playing this game to give the chance to make it to the Games but at the same time, they will find out that they won't make it?
They are obviously going to get an exception. The fact that Russia/Belarus were not allowed to participate will make it very easy to get one.
"How could I get the requirements if my nation could not participate? I would have participated if my nation was allowed to do so."
ITF barely enforces the requirements anyway.

The question is whether their clubs will let them play.

I'd say GB are pretty content. 2 in. 2 chances left and Ngamba essentially one of theirs now too (watch how she's 'claimed' now before Paris!)
That would make things awkward since GBR just qualified someone in women's middleweight. They would probably need to have a box-off while the other quota is returned.

Singapore, like Monaco, is very good at creating room when it wants to. There are a number er of sports they d love to host given the chan e, Inc swimming and badminton ton, and possibly sevens
No, I agree Singapore would work, but I was more questioning about Brunei's contribution.

ended up being the big winners of session 1, winning three quotas. They have one more opportunity.

If they were willing to share a few events with Singapore, or even Brunei, that might work even better.
Singapore would work, but what would Brunei contribute? Lawn bowling?

Malaysia is one of the smaller viable options. The good news is the nation has many of the costly venues (athletics track, swimming & diving pools, track velodrome, cricket fields, field hockey fields) already in place so the most they may need to do is to renovate them.

Qualifying in taekwondo is brutal, especially for Europe and Asia. You have people in non-Olympic weights moving around (more common in taekwondo) and the sport loves upsets so we are bound to see many great athletes staying home. Especially in a 16-person field.

So due to the continent limit, Germany will be drawn with Canada or Japan or potentially both. If it ends up being both then we are all forced to play Australia.
Also while they say both the United States and France will be drawn into Group B or C, they didn't explicitly say they had to be separated.
