  1. Draw for tomorrow is out, see here.

The first two tournaments are seeded based on world rankings. Winners will qualify to the Olympics.

The third and fourth brackets will be seeded based on the performance from the first two tournaments (losing finalists will be the top seed, etc.). The winners will also qualify to the Olympics.

As :CHN:JPN:KOR:TPE are not competing, they will qualify through the world rankings on May 7th along with two more nations.

  2. Not too surprising. Prize money at the Olympics was eventually going to happen. Hopefully, it will be the IOC that takes the initiative eventually.

This might help encourage some tennis players to take part, though 50k isn't a lot. That's around what the winner gets for a 250 event. Still better than nothing (including no ranking points).

If Colombia qualify in team event, can be a reallocation for the bronze medal of the tournament?

I'm not sure, the way the qualification document was written doesn't explain what happens. We'll have to wait and see what World Archery says. Asia was smart as they held the team qualifier before the individual qualifier.

Either the next highest ranked athlete will qualify or the quota will be reallocated to the final qualification tournament.

  4. Comparing what Ghana hosted at the African Games and what was on the program at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, we are missing cycling (mountain and track), diving, gymnastics (artistic and rhythmic), lawn bowls, netball, powerlifting and squash.

We may be able to fit gymnastics, netball, powerlifting and squash in venues which had events not part of the Commonwealth Games.

It looks like Ghana has a pre-existing mountain bike course and possibly a place to host lawn bowls. I'm unable to tell if the swimming venue also has diving boards so that and track cycling may have to dropped from the program or given to a different host.

  5. Qualification round is currently going

After 24 arrows the top 3 for men are :ISV D'Amour, :COL Arcila and :COL Enriquez while for women it is :CAN Esebua, :CUB Pagan and :CAN Chenier

The finalists qualify to the Olympics.

Also the team quota will be decided during the actual Pan American Championships held later this week where the winner will qualify (except Mexico in the women who are already qualified, then the quota will go to the runner-up).

  6. Women's epee, pool round is completed.

Joining already advanced :CAN are :PER :CHI :ARG :VEN :COL :CUB :MEX :PAN :CRC :PAR

Chile with a good performance to grab the third seed. Looks like her Pan American Games performance was not a fluke. On the other side, Paraguay despite having a chance to win the quota, just barely made it to the elimination round.

Out of curiousity, what would be the easiest sport for him to qualify in? Is there a summer equivalent (in terms of qualifying) of cross-country skiing before the changes to make it harder/more realistic? I'd guess athletics with the universal quota, but if only one athlete from :TGA is better in the 100m or something, that'd be tough :p

Of course world rankings in MTB are quite odd that way too I believe, or has that changed by now so athletes can't get high enough anymore solely based on 'easy' races?

For him, it would be judo. All he needs to do is literally show up to one event which awards points and he will qualify to the Olympics.

This is assuming no more Pacific nations decide they too would like a free quota.
