    She needs to try cross-country running, then she will have medals in all three... She would not be the first dual CC Ski/Bike Olympian, though: one of the Czech girls has done both, can’t remember her name. Never near the medals in either, though. Most common solo double is speed-skating / cycling, quite a few have done that. (I’m not counting athletics / bobsleigh crew, extremely common.)

    Results were based on the Friday qualifiers only: bad weather meant the Saturday Finals never took place.

    For some reason the first stage of the Vuelta is always a Team Time Trial round a beach-side holiday town.

    For sure both: as it is the small nations - ie outside the top 20 - never get to practice mass start races.

    I did notice a few blood-stained knees & elbows yesterday.

    Think it would be a good idea to have the SuperSprint in the World Champs as a pre-qualifier race for the small nations or IBU Cup Athletes. Similar to the short races they do in the Cross-Country Ski Worlds.

    We do have a few teenage ski jumpers now, some doing well at age group level.
