    Vlasov - we saw him struggling with his jacket last week - seemingly managed to get it into his spokes today. Off the back again, fighting to get back. Simon Yates in trouble now.

    No planes or helicopters can fly, so we’re only getting low-fi 4G images from motos, & even they are patchy. Things winding up now - EF are starting to work for Hugh Carthy, reeling in the break, shaving riders off the back. 40k to go. Evenepoel off the back already according to RAI & British ES. 35k to go. Gap melting like snow in May.

    Well, sometimes these shortened stages can be more exciting because someone wants to force a decision rather than just grinding it out to the last 3km of the big climb.

    Yeah, I think this is down to Adam Peaty & the Mixed relays. Everyone in the sport, male & female, knows that they WILL win medals now, so work that much harder to be the best in their particular discipline, because that way they get selected for the relays.
