  3. Season already underway in the Antipodes with the Nationals, but first races to be televised in Europe start this week with the Tour Down Under (Sheilas) starting in the early hours tomorrow. Followed by the Tour Down Under (Bruces) on Sunday. Then the two Challenge Mallorca series later in the month.
  4. Yeah, when Tai Woffinden was winning the Worlds he got a mention on the highlights show, that's all.
  5. And it’s the first time I remember that there was snow all the way!
  6. It’s the first weekend in January so the eyes of the sporting world turn to Hopton-on-Sea, Norfolk & the opening matches of the epic drama that is the World Indoor Bowls Championships. https://youtube.com/@WorldBowlsTour?si=dVTCzdcn0ckroZNq
  7. Yes, Derby. Also Newport, but I don't think it meets spectator criteria.
  8. And now the pursuit results are first past the post…..
  9. Winterberg this weekend with proper Friday/Saturday/Sunday racing.
  10. Natural Track World Cup this weekend! https://www.fil-luge.org/de/news/natural-track-luge-world-cup-starts-the-new-year-in-lasa

  12. ES / Discovery has coverage of the French nationals this weekend.
  13. TV €€€€€€€€. But you are correct, once in every five years it’s great, other times problems problems problems.
  14. Has this ever happened before in the entire history of history? Yes, once again Oberhof gets its traditional World Cup Warm Spell. Men’s race postponed to Friday. https://www.biathlonworld.com/news/oberhof-men-sprint-schedule-change-2024/78h5YGpBRE5UqupkthV8Mu

  16. Start winning stuff so you come back_. No, the more the better.
  17. Well, they revised the rule a few years back because Musgrave suddenly picked up a win a few years post facto. But I’m not sure if it applies anywere but the TdS.
  18. Think this is the only context in which they list the winners this way, they don't do it for pursuit races during the season.
  19. Aha! Fastest point to point, but Not the order they crossed the line of course.
  20. Probably won’t know until the trial now.
  21. Big shock in the Men’s today - weather change about 30 minutes into the race, so early starters got a clear run, but all the favourites got slowed down. Great stat from the ES Comms - had won every single men’s distance race in 2023 until the very last day!
  22. Oh for sure, but sadly the second rank Olympic sports don't get much recognition here.
  23. He had COVID back pre-season, but seemingly this time it is good old-fashioned ‘flu. Can’t see any non-Norwegian winning - our Andy Musgrave has had great results, but he is really a one-race-per-week specialist.
  24. Unusual podium! PB for Ben Ogden also & rare podium for men.
  25. Klaebo is off sick, so the Men’s Tour de Ski is now wide open - any one of five can win it.
