  1. I'm curious as to what Kenya's argument was. I just watched the clip again, and I don't see any interaction between them and US/Zambia. (Kenya is in the red kit two men to the left of Zambia. If anything, Kenya almost gets in the way of France. - 05:57 of the Youtube.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dbwj37SjxM4 (I'm of course glad that US gets another shot, however it happened. Here's hoping to a successful baton pass and fast legs tomorrow!)
  2. Who's here for the Sport Climbing WCH? Can't wait!
  3. Per the Reuters article I just posted, looks like even if SA beat France, then SA gets to join as the 9th (so France stays in regardless).
  4. https://www.reuters.com/sports/hot-favourites-us-bomb-out-4x400-metres-relay-2025-09-20/ Per Reuters, @avlar is correct regarding the 4x400m. "The same lineups for both teams will run at 10.40 a.m. local time and whoever wins, whatever their time, will become the ninth finalist later on Sunday." As far as South Africa, "if they run 38.34 seconds or better (France's time as the eighth-placed team) they will be entered as the ninth team in the final."
  5. "UPDATE: USATF has confirmed there will be a runoff for the final spot in the men’s 4x400m Final between USA and Kenya after both were impacted by Zambia in Heat 1 of the preliminary round." Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/DO0kdoLDj0n/ It's showing up on the timetable already. Also, South Africa gets to re-run the 4x100 by themselves. I guess SA (and USA and Kenya) will still need to be faster than the slowest q? Otherwise why is SA running by themselves?
  6. Other fun fact I heard the other day: The combined winning margin for the M 1500m, 10,000m, 3000m Steeple, and Marathon is just 0.15s. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has a winning margin of 0.2 in her 400m race alone. We'll see if the M 5000m is just as close!
  7. Ethiopia still with no gold. Last time that happened per my quick Wikipedia research was 1991. They've still got M 5000m tomorrow.
  8. Tie on points! Wow!
  9. Due to time qualifying and DQs, the only valid team from Heat 2 of the M4x4 that didn't advance is Japan.
  10. That was a mess.
  11. Thompson also stepped out of lane.
  12. Whew. US managed to get the baton around no problem here.
  13. Per our commentators, USA has formally filed a protest for the M 4x400...we'll see what happens.
  14. Ha...nope, no sarcasm here...we need to go to Baton Passing class (I know we have the runners...just have more trouble than we should with the batons!) (Though here it wasn't 100% our fault.)
  15. The look on Kaul's face when he realized the bar didn't fall And the bar was still shaking after Ferranti walked off the mat...must have some glue on it.
  16. Yep, US men's relay team...not one you can count on! Uf. (Would the hand-off with Zambia/US being in crossed positions be grounds for a DQ or a small q for USA?)
  17. The ISU Skate to Milano Figure Skating Qualifier 2025 is the final gateway for athletes aiming to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina. Held from September 18–21, 2025 at Beijing’s National Indoor Stadium, this high-stakes event determines the last 17 Olympic quota spots across: Men’s Singles (5 spots) Women’s Singles (5 spots) Pairs (3 spots) Ice Dance (4 spots) (Description by Microsoft Copilot)

  20. Oops, yes, my bad. I think I was accidentally looking at Weightlifting. I'll fix my comment.
  21. was up 2 sets to 0 over . Cuba was up ~18-24 in the third, and the US came back with 5 straight points, but then Cuba did win the third. US had to come back in the fourth, but eventually pulled it out. Whew! 3-0 ! And with winning over , moves on to the Elimination Round! Next round: -, who will face winner of -
  22. Question to anyone who sees this...I'm seeing this thread show up under 'Latest Replies' along with all the other normal (non-club) forum threads, but do others also see it there? I've never seen another club's posts in the 'Latest Replies' list on the main page (just in the righthand column with the other club tings). Just wanting to see what others saw.
  23. Hoping to start more topics soon!
  24. I've always been a fan of the Olympics, but it was only right before Paris that I started being turned on to the qualifications process. (I caught the OQS for Sport Climbing.) I'm looking forward to seeing who qualifies for LA28 and how. Obviously we don't have to worry about quota positions because of the host nation spots, and I wonder if that will affect who attends other competitions in the off season. I also realize that since we always have a large delegation, it is hard to keep track of all of our athletes! (There's something to be said about being a smaller nation with fewer athletes, as it's possible to more closely follow each one!) But I am looking forward to diving into new sports, seeing who our stellar athletes are, and seeing how they perform leading up to and into the games at LA28.
