  3. Interesting, like every Olympics I will read 250 times a day from Italian fans and not fans that "RAI is shit, they have no SpORts CUltuRe unlike the BBC which shows EvEryThiNg live on free-to-air without interruptions, news, changing channels"... Also, here on Sky/DAZN there will be 8-10 Eurosport channels during the Games.
  4. [hide] *"Double-the-points" distributed as follow: Each user will have 3 during the Knockout stage. Each user will have to mark their matches with "Double-the-points" with an "*". Knockout Stage June 29th - July 14th, 2024 4 Nations, the Winners of each Semifinal will qualify for the Final. Semifinals Date & Time (GMT +2) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 July 9th 2024, h. 21:00 Spain 1 1 France July 10th 2024, h. 21:00 Netherlands 1 1 England [/hide]
  5. Any other violent criminal competing a part from the child rapist? I can only think of Earvin Ngapeth. Then I agree with Karakurt and Djokovic, both insufferable in their own way.
  6. Simone Anzani, another Italian stopped by the NOC for heart problems. Big blow for the men's volleyball team.
  7. So in Taekwondo (men's-58kg) only one Russian (representing Belarus) had a quota. They had rejected it and reallocated to another Russian (representing Serbia). Now they changed their mind so they added a quota and both Russians are in.
  8. At worst we can study the mortality rate in a few years and see how big of an impact swimming in shit has.
  9. I am more and more convinced that the success of a system like the British one is detrimental to sports, I just don't know if failing would lead them to better or to even more insane policies.
  10. Men Alberto Bettiol, Road Race+Time Trial Luca Mozzato RR Elia Viviani RR Filippo Ganna TT Women Elisa Longo Borghini RR+TT Elena Cecchini RR Elisa Balsamo RR Silvia Persico RR
  11. General At least one individual podium from Tokyo 2020 will be repeated (same people in the same positions). At least one individual medallist from Beijing 2008 will win an individual medal. Athletics Italy will win at least 5 medals. Fencing (Team events) At least one African team out of 6 will win its quarterfinal match (and so advance to the top 4). (Individual events) At least 2 out of the 6 individual 2023 World Champions will win gold.
  12. Ok but the premise was "no individual in...", team sports or team events are where most locks can be found.
  13. Bach will have an heart attack when they tell him.
  14. yes, shooting, golf, etc. are unpredictable. A lot of athletics and swimming events are predictable but you need to dominate to be considered a lock (Crouser, Duplantis, etc.). There's also rowing (ok, only singles since I was talking individuals), diving, some cycling. Those criteria that I wrote were a sort of reply to "locks" previously mentioned in the the thread in the omnium, 50m freestyle, tennis.
  15. They sell it as a forecast to be more attractive for the media but Gracenote's VMT is not a real forecast, they only take previous international (WCH, World Cups) results and weigh them. There is no way any algorithm of this kind could result in McIntosh being top 3 in those events. Most likely the only thing they added is a big boost to French athletes.
  16. People in the comments not understanding what she's talking about and saying "This is why the American trials system is better" 🤣
  17. No individual in: - bunch races; - knockout tournaments; - short races where you have only one attempt and one small mistake makes you lose should be considered a lock.
  18. So according to the small sample of votes here so far 82% Japan - Germany 18% 66% Italy - Netherlands 34% (the only case clearly against Gracenote's virtual medal tally: NED 17 gold medals, ITA 11) 81% Slovenia - Mexico 19% 12% Netherlands - GBR 88% 47% India - Ireland 53%

  20. yes, it should count (maximum one result in a 5 or 10km)
  21. Too many team events with , as for individuals just picking a couple of them Li Wenwen in weightlifting Crouser in shot put
  22. "a matter of costs", replacing a beach volleyball pair with another one doesn't make any difference
  23. I don't know if they are done updating it yet. I was checking Re in 400m and he went from 48th to 49th while I was looking at it
