    Delegation location 2 - Epe
As we'll often do in terms of hosting delegations, we'll go slightly to the north of Apeldoorn, in this case we find ourselves in the town of Epe. The area has been inhabited for thousands of years and this is the area where one will find grave mounds dating back to the Stone Age, up to six thousand years ago. There's tons of Celtic fields around here as well, mostly dating from the Iron Age.

Epe's name most likely comes from an early Germanic word, apa, meaning something like 'the way the water goes' - one can wonder why, since there's no significant river or lake around. The Germanics were a weird folk, is the only logical conclusion, but we digress.

Epe might be fairly small, their inhabitants have been rather succesful in sports: the rapid footballer Marc Overmars, triple track cycling world champion Teun Mulder and multiple times Grand Slam doubles champion Jacco Eltingh find their roots here. Take care when driving around outside of town: wild boar roam around and outsiders often don't take this into account when driving, leading to some severe accidents - you do not want to hit a boar or even a deer.

Burial mounds near Epe, some are quite visible like these, dozens and dozens of them are more hidden in the forests around

If you like your pancakes, go to De Ossenstal right here in the forest, afterwards one can go for a delightful walk around and perhaps spot some wildlife

    Welcome to TOISC 2020!

Less than a year ago, Caro Emerald's Liquid Lunch provided the Dutch TISC Team with a rather liquid dinner by making history as the first ever winner from The Netherlands. Therefore the TOISC 2020 will be held in The Netherlands, which of course is a first as well. The organizing committee would like to invite each and everyone on Totallympics to join the tradition that is TISC and participate in this year's contest, to be held in the beautifully located city of...not yet.

The Netherlands may be rather small, we've got plenty of cities. Big cities, unless you compare them with Tokyo and São Paulo, small cities, unless you compare them with Adamstown and Ngerulmud, and a whole lot in between. Amsterdam assumed they were going to get the honours, because according to Amsterdam, nothing is better than Amsterdam and everything Amsterdam has to offer. Logically, it's not going to be Amsterdam, because plenty of places are a lot more suitable for the festival that is TOISC.

"Ha! It's not Amsterdam, surely it's going to be us", said Amsterdam's eternal rival Rotterdam. You'll get a nice bit of getting your head bashed in if you say so to either side, but obviously Amsterdam and Rotterdam are basically just one and the same and so it ain't gonna be either of them. "Fantastic news, that means we...", nope. The Hague's attempt remains a futile one. Same stuff, different location (slightly) and that's just not going to cut it. They may have tons of embassies, they're not getting TOISC.

The main square in Amsterdam, with clear evidence that nobody wants to be there

There are not that many major cities left, but Utrecht is a big one. If the Tour de France gives it a try, surely it's good enough for TOISC? Nice attempt and we are in fact getting closer, but with the big three looming around the corner, we'd better move away. On to Eindhoven then? They make light bulbs like no other, but their lives get turned entirely upside down for a week when Carnival comes peeking around the corner and we just need something a bit more...down-to-earth. "Eindhoven the craziest", they say. Too bad.

"Nothing goes above Groningen!", the saying goes in, well, Groningen. The towns above Groningen surely dare to disagree and we are going to join them: it's a decent city, but other than - and including - student life...why go there? Tilburg has Eindhoven's Carnival problem, the committee would rather take over Ngerulmud and hold TOISC there than setting foot in Almere, Breda joins Eindhoven and Tilburg and Nijmegen...well, big events centered on that city tend to have a bit of a negative outcome.

The sad joke that is Eindhoven. And Tilburg. And Breda. We ain't going to the province of Brabant

That's the first ten Dutch cities in terms of population down the drain, wonderful, because that means we've arrived at our destination. Ladies and gentlemen, TOISC 2020 will be held in Apeldoorn! Unlike is often the case, the choice is not made mostly based on the city itself, as much as it is based on the beautiful location and surrounding. You'll get to know this area better in the coming weeks, but everyone who loves enjoying nature will be taken care of and locations for the delegations to stay will be announced.

The event will be held in Omnisport Apeldoorn, where the cycling track's stands can hold a good amount of people and the track itself will be used to give everyone some extra space in these times of distance. The small infield will be transformed into a stage, so that everyone can enjoy the show. Welcome to Apeldoorn 2020 and feel free to announce your participation!

The majestic Omnisport Apeldoorn, home of all kinds of sports - and TOISC 2020!

Alright, that was a shit ton of pages to go through, but I'm glad I made it to the end

First of all, thank you to the community who was able to vote for Hong Kong in the group stages. I chose that song because I was also in the middle of picking some songs for another contest, and when I got an invite via Twitter to join, I just had to do it. I also had chosen songs from my other choices (Guam and Swaziland, or eSwatini for you 'name nazis' out there) from that same contest. For Guam, I had chosen Pia Mia (mainly because she's the biggest pop star to ever come out of the island) with a song called Bitter Love and for eSwatini (or Swaziland), I had chosen this artist named Symphony with a song called Chance. I don't know how either of them would have done in this contest, but I don't regret it one bit.

Okay, so I was in Group F with @kungshamra71 (love the song from Angola btw), @IoNuTzZ (thanks for claiming a spot already before this thing started lol), @heywoodu (I'm gonna sound stupid, but wtf though), and @justony (proof that you can tie 3-4 times in the group stage and still make it to bronze apparently, but whatevs).

My favorites in no particular order are South Africa, Guinea, Kosovo, Gibraltar (I was rooting for them in the final though), Angola, Jamaica, Sri Lanka, and Burundi

About the choices, there are some I wasn't surprised about and some that I never saw coming, but if you had told me that @OlympicIRL would pick Costa Rica and that would have gone on to win the contest, I would sort of believe you, because of course he will.

So, it's been fun following the contest, and when we do decide to do it again, just let me know and I'll join. Whether I pick Hong Kong again or give another nation a go is totally another story

Well, I kinda hesitated what I would contribute to Japan Day (if i wanted to post a documentary on how the residents survived the 2011 earthquake/tsunami or anime shows that have been a ratings hit in the United States) but in the end, I'm posting a day in the life of what they're called a "sushi master". Enjoy!
