27 swimmers will represent Canada (including open water).
Most likely that number will rise to 28 with Jason Block being added for the men's 4x100 medley relay (we won't know till June, but Canada is safely in qualification position by more than 3 seconds). Condorelli (butterfly), Acevedo (backstroke) and Kisil (freestyle) will round out the team and are already named to the Olympic team.
The men's 4x200m relay is also in qualification position and might decide to use two already qualified athletes (Thormeyer and Cochrane) + 2 additional names to bring the total to 30 swimmers (1 less than in London).
The surprise was the addition of Taylor Ruck (15 year old) who won gold medals at the World Juniors last year but struggled here with injuries. She will be an alternate for the relays in Rio (giving Oleksiak much needed rest from the prelims). Hopefully Ruck can be back to her form from last year!

From following Canadian swimming from Athens (no medals, which was crushing) I can honestly say this is one of the strongest teams I have seen).
Medal candidates:
Weinberger - open water swim, if he cuts down on his mistakes he should medal
Cochrane - going for two medals in the 400 and 1500 (will be tough, but who knows its possible he can pull it off)
Condorelli - 100 freestyle
Oleksiak - is a threat in almost all her events, hopefully she wins 1!
McLean - Produced world class results in the 400 and 800, and hopefully she can pull of a double in Rio.
The women's 4x100 medley relay team is just outside a medal, maybe they can rise up to the occasion
Caldwell in the women's 200m backstroke should threaten for a medal.
Pickerm/Overholt - 1 medal between the two in the individual medleys
So the potential is there for 10 medals!!
