There will be a fair few spots available through the world team rankings. I expect 3-4 already qualified teams to make the last 8 here. Which will make 5-6 spots available through Team rankings. Teams that can’t make to QF here will look to qualify via ranking route, unless we have major upsets here & lower ranked teams qualify.

Yes, I recently read somewhere that Brazilian federation is having a lot of conflict & even FIFA threatened Brazil with sanctions( possible Ban) due to government interference in running the football federation. Is it related to current president of the CBF or the election in CBF?

Feel sad for Team melli , in tournament football perhaps the best team doesn’t always win. This team has so much quality , hopefully they will do well in 2026. Good luck to Qatar & Jordan . They were certainly not my picks for the final but they deserve to be in the final.

Why is Taniksha not participating in Epee world cup? She didn’t participate in Doha, Qatar & is not listed in the next leg of world cup in Barcelona. How will she improve her ranking if she doesn’t participate? Do you know the reason? Is she injured? Karan singh & Bhavani Devi are listed as starters in the next leg of Sabre World cup in Georgia & Peru respectively. Hopefully both will get good ranking points to move up.

Would you have played with the same system against Japan? I don’t think so. I don’t think your coach would have started both Azmoun & Taremi together against Japan, although I think it would have been Taremi starting with Azmoun coming off the bench, but with this suspension Azmoun will start but his tactics & gameplan might not change much .

In men’s : 4 quota places are available in each weight category . So if they make the SFs in their respective weight class they will qualify for Paris. In Women’s : Similar to men 4 quota places available across each weight classes except for 57kg & 60kg which has 2 & 3 quota places available respectively. For 57kg only the finalists will qualify while for 60kg there will be a box-off between the two losing semi-finalists & the winner will qualify along with the 2 finalists.

Yes in all likelihood we will qualify only one Judoka , most likely Avtar . As qualification scenario is very complex if you are not in top of your category. But good thing is we have entered a team in most of the grand prix till the ranking cutoff date. In recently concluded Portugal grand prix all our judoka lost in first round itself except Asmita (48kg W ) , who reached till 3rd round winning two of her bouts.

But in Fencing there is continental qualifiers & if we can’t qualify via rankings , there is a chance to get the quota in continental qualifiers.

As per the link you shared, Dukic is the highest places sailor under ENP in ILCA 7 class & there is only one quota under ENP . So if both Dukic & Vishnu had not qualified here Dukic would have have been ahead of Vishnu for the quota. Anyways, i feel he should have sealed his quota in the Asian regatta but good thing he has the quota here. There is no ENP quota available in Skiff 49er Class. So no chance for Varun & Ganapathy duo under this category.

We got our first sailing quota for Paris Vishnu Saravanan finally gets the quota which he should have got in the Asian regatta. He is certainly one of the top sailors in Asia in his class & finally he gets the tickets to Paris. We can certainly expect a top 15 finish in Paris. With this quota in sailing have now qualified 52 in 8 sports

I feel the same way too, either they should have all the continental qualifiers before or after or simply don’t give precedence to world championships placings over continental placings. However, if you discount both & quota places & allocate them according to world championships rankings then still gets one of the quotas . ( As will also be not eligible) Only big loser is their loss is gain .

Yes that is correct. None of the quota eligible sailors made the medal race as they finished outside top 10

Vishnu gets one of the 7 available quotas & we have our first sailing ⛵️ quota for Paris. His last 3 races were tough & nearly lost it. But finishing 26th/152 sailors in a world championships is a commendable achievement. Hopefully Nethra can do well in the last chance regatta but it will be tough as only 3 quota places are available. Are we eligible for the the emerging nations programme (ENP) quota?
