  1. India denied visa to Donjeta Sadiku (World Champs LW bronze medallist in 2022) because they don't recognize as an independent country
  2. 0.5 secs. covered the first ten skiers but then Ilka Stuhec takes the lead by 0.81.
  3. Indian Wells 1000 QF are set: Iga Świątek (1) vs Sorana Cirstea Karolina Muchova vs Elena Rybakina (10) Maria Sakkari (7) vs Petra Kvitova (15) Cori Gauff (6) vs Aryna Sabalenka (2)
  4. The pitcher signed a minor league deal with Detroit Tigers one hour after the game ended
  5. The first World Cup they should be eligible will be in Poznań but don't count on them being granted entry visas by Poland https://www.insidethegames.biz/index.php/articles/1134597/fie-russia-decision-return
  6. Totally missed the bonfire of vanity show. Heard Jamie Lee Curtis won and Brendan Fraser? Whoa! A long way from that devil comedy with Liz Hurley, George from The Jungle and The Mummy 20+ years ago In the streaming services era does anyone actually watch majority of the nominated movies anymore?
  7. Mikaela Shiffrin turns 28 years old today, could be a long party at the World Cup finals again
  8. Eva Pinkelnig has wrapped the overall World Cup crystal globe despite only 11th place today.
  9. Maria Sakkari beats Anhelina Kalinina in three sets in R3. Kalinina had 3 double faults in the last game of the match @Makedonas No huge upsets in the women's draw so far other than maybe Belinda Bencic losing the derby to Jil Teichmann in R2.
  10. Stefan Hula - a long-time second-tier jumper ended his career after Zakopane Continental Cup today. Probably best known for leading the 2018 Olympic NH competition after the 1st round (dropped to 5th due to wind compensation deduction in the 2nd round). His first World Cup start was Bischofshofen 2005, his last Bischofshofen 2023
  11. You have to say Ostersund is probably the best venue for Wierer except Anterselva
  12. Even the Polish biathlon media hype Grotian as the "next Neuner" and she will get a wild card to Holmenkollen this season?
  13. For Poland in men's juniors it was medal number seven and the first one since Kontiolahti 1996 when Wojciech Kozub won two bronzes (sprint & individual). We have one men's junior gold medal in history (Jan Szpunar, individual Lake Placid 1973). Also three golds in relays (Altenberg 1967, Linthal 1972, Lake Placid 1973). Individual men's junior WJC medals: Gold: Jan Szpunar - Lake Placid 1973 Individual Silver: Andrzej Rapacz - Zakopane 1969 Individual Ludwik Zięba - Hameenlinna 1971 Individual Tomasz Sikora - Ruhpolding 1993 Sprint Jan Guńka - Schuchinsk 2023 Sprint Bronze: Wojciech Kozub - Kontiolahti 1996 (Sprint & Individual)
  14. Campbell Wright wins the men's junior sprint ahead of Jan Guńka. Maxime Germain with bronze.
  15. And that's win #87 for Shiffrin. 0.92 margin over Holdener
  16. Hanna Aronsson Elfman throws away a huge chance for a podium
  17. @GrassmarketNot the finest hour for BBC given the growing Gary Lineker saga
  18. @hckošiceVlhova made a mistake on a left turn, lost all speed and basically two seconds with it. Would have been in 2nd place otherwise. A few girls made a mistake on that gate later on.
  19. Liensberger almost 3 seconds slower than Shiffrin in 1st run. This is an utter joke. Why is she even competing this season? She has completely collapsed ever since winning the 2021 World Champs. Even Livio Magoni did nothing to solve her slump.
  20. Paula Moltzan advances into top slalom group. Liensberger after a horrendous season finally drops out.
  21. Here's the bomb. Bears were set to trade away #1 overall pick and stick with Fields but the question is who would make the trade happen. It's the Panthers. Let's see if they draft CJ Stroud over the undersized Bryce Young?
  22. Gonna be a long birthday party weekend for Shiffrin. Of course Are is where she won her 1st ever World Cup event - slalom in December 2012. I believe Hansdotter led after the first run but like so many other times was forced to settle for 2nd place
  23. Raw Air starts on Saturday. All eyes will be on next weekend in Vikersund where women will officially participate in ski flying competition for the first time in World Cup history alas only Top 15 from the Raw Air standings and only those who are 18+ years old. It's not the first time women will jump on ski flying hill. The unofficial record jump comes from Kulm 2003 by Daniela Iraschko (200m). Anette Sagen, Lindsay Van and Eva Ganster also participated as trial jumpers in Vikersund in 2004 but distances were ca. 170-175 meters.
  24. The shock is on. Lech Poznań beat Djurgardens IF 2-0 in the R16 first leg
  25. Olympic Committee has stripped the funding for two cyclists and three tennis players for competing on the same tour as Russians. For Ostapenko it's 1,700 Euro which is laughable for her standards of WTA purse but it's bad news for the ITF-level compatriots Vismane and Semenistaja who don't make a great living playing ITFs all the time
