Almost a year after "the big failure" (out of WC 2018), the Italian Football Federation FIGC :ITA  have a new president:  Gabriele Gravina, the former president of Lega Pro (3rd tier), has received 97.2 % of votes (was the only nominee). He will be in charge until 2020.

Now the Italian football can restart, the new governance will have to try to implement the reforms, that have been awaited for many years, and try to bring back our football at the top of the world.

A lot of work to do, and not a lot of time for do it. :pope:

We are in good hands  I think that Gravina is a good president for a transaction period, 1-2 years maximum.

He is better than the Malago's puppets but if our rebirth depends on him I'm really worried

Indonesian audio operator decided to play North Korean Anthem during South Korean team AFC U-19 match. The correct anthem is played afterwards. However, even AFC caught off guard and uploaded the North portion in their Youtube before they deleted it...

This is what happens if they don't hire an anthem expert like me

Ján Kozák is no longer National Team coach of :SVK He resigned today. Logical outcome after the tragically miserable performances the team was performing last couple of games, the final nail in the coffin was yesterday absolutely shameful and disgusting effort in the Nations League derby against :CZE .

He became the NT coach in July 2013 after the team failed to qualify for Brazil WC 2014, He immediately succeeded, qualifying Slovakia for the first time ever to an EURO in France 2016 and reached the Round of 16 there, then barely missed the play-offs for Russia 2018 WC, we was the only 2nd ranked country that did not qualified for the play-Offs and since then the atmosphere within the team was quickly dropping, During his charge, we played 54 matches, we won 29, 10 draws and lost 15, with score 80:48. He moved our team to the 14th place of FIFA ranking in August 2015 (Our historic record) during that period we won 9 consecutive matches (12 of 13 games).

but in the last months/weeks it was clearly visible there something wrong actually around our NT.

and

Yesterdays shame just finished the thing. Kozák announced today his resignation. The name of the new coach will be known later.

So, officially today was introduced our new coach, for the first time in history we will have a "foreigner" in charge of our Football National Team. The Czech Pavel Hapal signed today a deal until the end of the EURO 2020 qualifiers, the goal is ofc the qualification, which should be doable since 24 teams will qualify. In case of success his contract will be prolonged for the World Cup qualification etc..

His Monthly Salary will be 15.000 EUR (a amount that a average Slovak must work at least 2 years to earn ) + special bonus 200.000 EUR in case of qualification for the EURO 2020

One of his first moves is to call back the "enfant terrible" of our football the "Mr. eternal problems" Miroslav Stoch (you know the guy who won the  FIFA Puskas award with the highest ever amount of votes), so that´s gonna be interesting..

The AFC Champions League final will be between Kashima Antrlers from Japan and Persepolis Tehran from Iran. and after 8 years there will be an Iranian team in the final. considering the low budget of Iranian clubs this is getting harder and harder for them to compete with other Asian Clubs.

Persepolis is the most popular club in Iran and Asia but this is the first time they are making it into the final. they had much stronger teams before but this is funny they made it this time with a very depleted squad. their Croat coach made something like a miracle. for some stupid reasons FIFA banned them from signing any new players for 2 transfer windows and after the World Cup they also lost some of their NT players. and because of some other injuries they barely have 11 players to start the match !

They had two great comebacks in packed Azadi Stadium in 1/8 final and quarterfinal and last night they beat the Qatari club Al-Sadd 2-1 on aggregate to make it to the final by a miraculous save from Persepolis GK against Xavi's header in last minutes.

    • Selina Grotian is the 6th youngest World Cup winner among women (20yo 8 months).   Elin Kristiansen remains the youngest at 19yo 6 months (Anterselva 1988 sprint). Magdalena Neuner is the only other athlete to win before turning 20yo (19yo 11 months). Uschi Disl (20yo 1 month), Svetlana Davidova (20yo 3 months) & Martina Glagow (20yo 4 months) were also younger.
    • Today maybe there was poor wax servic, but Auchentaller loses in every race at the end, when younger competitors: Grotian, Richard, etc. are already running much faster. Vittozzi is 29 years old but unfortunately she got injured in November - if she recovers, she will still have a big chance for medals. Unfortunately, Wierer can only be a complement to relay teams.
    • Could be the waxing on the last lap fresh snow. Auchentaller, Wierer & Trabucci all fell off on the last lap and basically had the slowest skiing time there? Overall though you have a problem, days of prime Wierer & Vittozzi won't be repeated soon but then I hear the same issues in alpine skiing where there is a huge gap behind Brignone & Bassino (the latter being 28 years old already). And someone claimed Colturi would have plateau'd if she stayed with the Italian federation as well.
    • Could not watch it, despite that I'm definitely not upset :)
    • I am rooting for Team Canada in Ice hockey and Team Austria in Ski jumping
    • Finally at least one condition suitable for the dog shit we wax
    • Slovakia returns to the podium for the first time since Oslo in March 2022. To find a podium in the mass start we even have to go back to Rupholding 2019, before the covid era
    • The truth is that the entire Italian biathlon depends on one Vittozzi, who is not sure if she will return this season and her form is also questionable, because the rest of the Italian team is running poorly. Wierer is old and will never win again - she is running weaker and weaker and what is worse: she is shooting poorly. The rest of our team is running too weakly to count on any successes in the future. I don`t believe that Auchentaller or Comola will suddenly make a big progress in the run track, e.g. to the top 10, since the young French women are already much faster than them.
    • Auchentaller runs poorly, and her last rounds are awful - generally all Italian women have a problem with fitness and this is probably the problem of poor preparation before the season. If you don't run in the top 10, you can forget about successes apart from one individual race. Wierer and Vittozzi always ran in the top 10 during their prime. I don't see such potential in Auchentaller. Generally, both in biathlon and cross-country skiing Italian teams aren`t able to train a few good runners for many years and this is probably a systemic problem - look at France, for example: how many good runners have they been able to train in biathlon in recent years...
