Pechstein apparently said to German tv that she wants to try to qualify for Beijing 2020. She'll be 50 then. :yikes:

she reminds me of our national football team Goal Keeper Essam El Hadary who's 45 right now and will play with 90 % in next WC as our main Goal Keeper

Would be great for the sport, if an idol like her continues to compete. Speed skating is losing more and more popularity, so an international star like here can only help the sport. Would be absolutely sensational if she would win a medal in mass start.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Kramer, Verweij and Blokhuijsen in the pursuit tomorrow.

1. Just had his worst race ever

2. Completely out of shape

3. Rather mediocre shape

And then the one who is in the shape of his life, Roest, gets left out. Oh and there's trouble between them and the national team coach (so not their commercial team coaches). This has really all the makings of one big fail :p

They should have Roest / Nuis / Bergsma, hands down.

Yeah, because nothing is better than starting a team event with someone who is the worst team player ever. Roest/Nuis/Kramer would be fine, three actual teammates, two of which are in great shape and one who is still very useful even in maybe not his best shape.

The first round (and especially quarter finals) are a bit of an annoyingly wrong name, it's about the time and only about the time :p
