Because Laurel Hubbard was born as a man (a man who set a New Zealand junior weightlifting record if I'm not mistaken), before transitioning to being a woman and then going on to absolutely destroy the competition in Australia/New Zealand earlier this year.

According to our federation we will send 2 athletes, a former doper Karol Samko in -85kg and the young talent former U23 European Champion Matej Kováč in -105kg https://sport.aktuality.sk/c/304051/vzpieranie-na-ms-do-anaheimu-cestuje-dvojica-samko-kovac/  so why there only 1 mentioned in the official entry list ? Is this only a provisional entry list or there something we missed

no much time left till the competition and still no visa for the Iranian team, not just Rostami but the whole team ! They got no answer from the US officials.
