dcro 10,193 Posted March 26, 2016 #121 Share Posted March 26, 2016 Looks like IAAF slightly changed the name of Kyrgyzstan, to Kirghizistan. What a shock. #banbestmen

intoronto 4,728 Posted March 26, 2016 #125 Share Posted March 26, 2016 I am surprised to see Tejada of Peru competing. She was caught for doping at the Pan Am Games last summer...
uk12points 434 Posted April 6, 2016 #126 Share Posted April 6, 2016 Some more updates in Russian doping scandal: Russia’s Tatyana Beloborodova is facing the prospect of being stripped of her Olympic hammer throw gold medal she won at London 2012 after she was provisionally suspended by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) for retrospectively failing a drugs test. Last month, Russia's Sergey Kirdyapkin was stripped of his Olympic medal he had won in the 50 kilometres walk at London 2012 for doping. Elena Lashmanova, another athlete coached by Viktor Chegin, who has now been banned for life, had won the women's 20km race at London 2012 and has been allowed to keep her gold medal, despite testing positive herself in 2014. Yuliya Zaripova is set to be stripped of the gold medal she won in the 3,000 metres steeplechase because of doping Mariya Savinova, the 800m gold medallist, is also under investigation and expected to be disqualified. OlympicsFan 791 Posted April 9, 2016 #127 Share Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) Crazy race walking times in Podebrady (Czech Republic) today: Men: 1) Karlström (Sweden) 1:19.11 (previous PB 1:21.03) 2) Linke (Germany) 1:19.19 (previous PB 1:20.37), 3rd on german all time list and fastest german time since 2000. 3) Pineda (Mexico) 1:19.20 (previous PB 1:24.54) 4) Vega (Mexico) 1:19.20 (previous PB 1:21.08) 5) Palma (Mexico) 1:19.38 (previous PB 1:21.02) 6) Pohle (Germany) 1:19.58 (previous PB 1:21.29) Women: 1) Ortega (Mexico) 1:29.35 (previous PB 1:31.04) 2) Buziak (Poland) 1:30.36 3) Szwarnog (Poland) 1:30.50 (previous PB 1:30.56) 4) Galikova (Slovakia) 1:30.53 (previous PB 1:31.42) 5) Trapletti (Italy) 1:31.49 6) Golba (Poland) 1:32.36 Those might be new national records for Slovakia and Sweden. I dont really understand those times ... It looks as if something was wrong with the timing ... or the course was too short ... By looking at the times i would say that the course might have been about 500m too short. All of the Lithuanians reached their PB and even the athlete who finished "20km" course for the first time in her life reached Olympic standard. Everyone was at least 2 min faster than expected, so i would say the course was at least 500m too short (1km = 4min) or something went wrong with the timing. Thank god Diniz didnt compete here, he wouldve destroyed the world record. Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached. Wow, 500m would be a pretty big mistake If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
