OlympicsFan 783 Posted August 29, 2023 #321 Share Posted August 29, 2023 Absolutely horrible performance by France. The only logical explanation is that they wanted to get their coach fired. Possibly he lost the team after not nominating the guy from Russia. He was in an impossible situation to begin with, his best self-preserving strategy might have been to nominate the guy from Russia and hope that everything is forgotten if they win a medal. nenad 369 Posted August 29, 2023 #323 Share Posted August 29, 2023 Latvia played great 15 minutes and still losing at the half. Canada is just that good. Josh
JoshMartini007 2,242 Posted August 29, 2023 #324 Share Posted August 29, 2023 After a strong first half by Latvia, Canada was able to put it away 101-75 to top the group. Looking at the Pan American Olympic quotas, we likely have five teams going to the second round (six if Venezuela beats Georgia by 16+ points). As suspected the Pan American nations will have to reach at least the quarterfinals in order to qualify to the Olympics. and will likely face off in one group while takes on . Overall there's still a good chance to see three Pan American teams in the quarterfinals. Josh and Topicmaster1010
