yea it's hard to rate it any higher than 3 for Canada rn I do wonder what happens next and where the country goes from here though, assuming nothing gets better -
teams seem to be getting caught in the touching rocks controversy, first Kennedy, now Homan, but we're not the only ones doing it actually.... having been made aware of it and watching the replay back Paetz on her last against Canada did it too. (I know Kennedy's was far more obvious, and he was touching the granite so it isn't the same thing but still, Homan also having been accused for cheating like I've seen on many articles/social media posts when she barely grazed it...) It seems to be way more common than people realize -

If he doesn't win any individual medals here, he'll be the biggest loser in men's biathlon at this games and he knows it. -

The biggest loser at now is Giacomel – he's always been a great skier here in Antholz, and now he's not only shooting terribly, but he's not even in the top 3 on skis. Vittozzi has never felt good here, so her poor form doesn't surprise me. Wierer is different, but unfortunately, this isn't 2020, it's 2026, but even Wierer is in his worst form of the entire season here. It`s not normal, for me... France and Norway have been investing the most in this sport for several years, so their dominance isn't surprising. This is the same example as Switzerland in Alpine skiing – if a wealthy country enters a some sport seriously, it must have significant success. The only surprising thing is that Germany has so gave up biathlon, where there are 11 sets of medals up for grabs at the Olympics. They, of course, would have the resources to compete with France and Norway, but Italy not. Wierer and Vittozzi will leave and we will return to the times around 2010. -
This was just a joke about Corona being the only beer offered in the Olympic venues.

Don't know about the first one but Nemour's situation is similar (in a way) to Braathen's: it wasn't a plan or an intention from the outset to compete for other country than that they originally represented/they were born in (maybe for more money or to make history etc), but the original country or its federation is at least partly to blame for the country change to happen. Without the respective country's or federations missteps, both Nemour and Pinheiro-Braathen would now be French and Norwegian Olympic gold medallists, respectively.
