This time last year he was going to be a new star in sprinting.

Today his career is almost certainly over.

How is his career almost certainly over? He’s young, he’ll have plenty of opportunities in the future.

Despite successfully defending against his EPO positive this guy is sus af.

Screenshot found on Peter Bol's phone contained doping information - report

Won't be cheering for him in Paris.

Interesting that EPO is still around ... ant that people can still very easely get away with it.

If microdosed carefully it's almost impossible to detect so probably used widely.

It's a four year ban though and I assume he'll also lose his scholarship to his American university

The Russians used to work on the theory that if you doped 'em young, they'd get a ban in their early career, come back, and still have a net gain from the teenage doping.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
