Really really disappointing, having the games in 2023 will conflict with lots of Olympic qualifiers. :(

I hope OCA seriously looks for another host. you can't trust China with hosting things anymore :( even though it's probably not possible to organize such a huge event in less than a year.

Considering how big the games are its difficult to do so on a short notice. In a best case scenarios 3 or 4 host nations could divide few sports still it's a huge task

China's zero covid policy has failed so having 5k or 10k cases a day (sports events with safety measures being this huge catastrophic spreaders from almost nothing to hundreds of daily cases would be news now, beside the fact that those events weren't going to be held right now) doesn’t make a big difference. I think that either the situation is again much worse than what they let filter to international media or the government are just not interested in the sports's soft power anymore for now. Fair but call it quits for a few years after the Olympics then, and let sports bodies organize events elsewhere.

Iran NOC announced the flagbearer(s) for the Asian Games, it seems they like to follow Tommy Bach's "advise" of having 2 athletes doing that

Javad Foroughi (Shooting) and Nahid Kiani (Taekwondo)
