Wow, what is going on? It's just second post in this thread since Monday. Seems that corona isn't in highlights anywhere anymore.

Too bad, because the virus didnt go away suddenly. Situation is catastrophic in Brazil (tomorrow, or even today evening local time they will overtake Britain as the country w/ 2nd most deaths), cases are rising fast in India and elsewhere in the Indian Subcontinent, and even Europe there are countries where it started to rise again (like N. Macedonia or the miners in Poland)

Dont want to spread panic unnecesarily but this definitely isnt going away so easily (but still hope if there is a second wave it will not be worse than the first or at least in this part of the world)

The slightly positive news is that while the number of infections per day is higher than ever, the number of deaths is actually sinking. If we are really lucky it could mean, that the virus will become less lethal over time.

+ in Sweden still is daily many new cases and deaths.

Those miners workers in Poland are in 98% without any symptoms, we have here big number of daily cases as all workers from all miners and their families in whole Silesia are massive tested to avoid new possible outbreaks. In Masovia there are outbreaks in one kindergarten, hospital and church in Radom or nearly this city. In other voivodeships are fortunately just single cases every day. From 13,550 active cases "just" 1629 people are in hospitals and 77 under respirators.

According some sources around 3000 recoveries aren't reported due to technical problems. I believe that most people being under quarantine now are healthed as well or will be soon.

I think that we are after peak like most of European countries.

When I thought it was fully over in China, there is a sudden spike in Beijing where strictest measures are taken all around the world I guess.

6 people are diagnosed as patients and other 45 are asymptomatic. All of them are related to the biggest wet market in Beijing, some are vendors and some are customers. It's not related to wildlife animal, but the original source is still unknown. 95%+ patients in China could be traced the source of infection, so this is a huge challenge right now. Undoubtfully my daily life would be heavily affected AGAIN.:yikes:

BTW some salmon fish samples tested positive in the market, so the price of salmon suddenly drop 90% in Beijing.

so, all of the unsold salmon in your Country will now get to Italy...

Haha, I am not sure the price in other cities of China and experts claim very low possibility that salmon would infect people but still raw fishes are not recommended during pandemic.

Though both the numbers in ICU and deaths are on the decline (still nowhere near where they would wanna be, but the higher number of new cases is mainly because they've finally gotten to a decent number of tests)

    • Actually I take that back, I think Brazil will too with Braathen.
    • First,  … Oriol Cardona Coll is the favourite in men’s ski mountaineering, with the mixed relay also favoured, and there’s fringe chances for Queralt Castellet in women’s snowboard halfpipe, Lucas Eguibar in men’s snowboard cross, and Ana Alonso in women’s ski mountaineering (she got into a car crash a few months ago, wasn’t serious thankfully but not in great form) depending on the day…    For  Bulgaria one of Zamfirov or Krashniak in men’s parallel giant slalom is what I’m thinking, but maybe Yankov can medal too (although his season has been pedestrian), Zamfirova in women’s parallel slalom also has a decent chance   For  Belgium, I think Kim Meylemans in women’s skeleton, the Crystal Globe winner, and potentially one of the Desmet siblings in short track…   For  Georgia, obviously Metelkina/Berulava in pairs figure skating   For  Latvia it’s all about luge. Bots/Plume and Upite/Kaluma in men’s/women’s doubles, Aparjods in men’s singles, and the team relay. Kruzbergs might also have a chance in short track but don’t see it.    For  Poland, in short track Maliszewska in the women’s 500m, and the women’s and mixed relays have chances, Krol-Walas in women’s parallel slalom, Zurek in the men’s 500m and 1000m. Easiest pick of them all.    For  their biggest chance is mixed team aerials IMO due to the lack of teams competing, Kotovskyi in men’s aerials and Brykina are other chances.    I actually don’t have  Brazil reaching the podium, Rocha Silveira hasn’t had the best results on the WC circuit, Burgener’s scores this season won’t be enough for a podium, and most of their hopes rest on Braathen IMO   Same with  Estonia, Kaldvee/Lill are a strong team but I have four teams slightly above them.
    • fis basically only cares about alpine skiing (and despite that, they always find the way to make disasters also on it) if it wasn't for the North American tv money, I guess they would even get rid of those "freestyle" events, leaving them to the X Games organization
    • Last Olympics Canada only rejected a quota after they got to 8 female. Hard to say but they will probably take them.
    • A bit shocking to see Brazil with the most votes so far! They do have 3 good medal chances though (Pinheiro Braathen, Rocha Silveira, Burgener) so it's well deserved.   I also originally included  New Zealand on the poll but I must have deleted them by accident although they probably also would have gotten the same amount of votes as Brazil so it wouldn't have made much of a difference.
    • Korea accepted a halfpipe quota so there will be a total of 22/25 competitors entered in women's halfpipe.   The good news is that women's ski cross will have 32 entries for the first time since 2010.
