So a dream World Championships for us so far, four golds and two silvers with only the men's 5000m and women's 4x400m to come. Newman and Lovett not making their respective finals (men's high jump/women's pole vault) were a bit disappointing, but both were in horrific form so it wasn't really surprising. Was hoping for Wodak to reach the OQS in the women's marathon, and for Warner to win gold in the decathlon, but both weren't able to do it. No words for our men's 4x100m disaster...

Hopefully, this will give us some momentum heading into Paris 2024.

I think it’s a good sign that we can have our men’s sprint team have a huge underperformance and… we still have by far our best worlds ever. Canada has real depth in athletics now.

I literally just watched the last lap and it looked like he got boxed in when he was trying to make a move.

He had a chance to go for bronze down the straight but didn't have it in him.  Not going after him, just saying he wasn't boxed in at that point.

The 4x400m relay has finished 4th so many times that there has to be something big coming for them in Paris.

Gotta wonder if Sage Watson was there if she could have pushed them over the top.  But then again, everyone was lucky that the Americans weren't in the final.

If finishing 4th resulted in Canadians getting medals their next time out, we'd be on top of the medal table all the time. ;)
