Indonesia announce bid intentions for 2032 Olympic Games

That could be interesting! Maybe the IOC should introduce a rule only allowing new hosting nations to bid since there are already rumours coming from Argentina, India and Thailand about potential bids. After 2 very safe games in Paris and LA they could do with taking a bit of a risk and choosing something more unusual to mix things up a bit!

Just...no. Unless in a few years they can forget everything about the Asian Games and start from scratch, but better try 2048 or something.

Yes, let's just not allow anyone outside of CHN/JPN/KOR to ever host the Games in Asia. Nobody is as cool as those 3.

I would love another country, including Indonesia, to host the Olympics. I'm just very, very skeptical when even something as simple as a website is an almost impossible challenge for organizers.

I wonder where Mongolia's plans for 2040 have gone :p

Olympic results system is an entirely different thing. Even if it isn't, a couple of minor errors that occurred with it is no reason to hold such grudge. They are not bidding for 2024 after all. :p

Orgazination in general was definitely not scandalously bad for them to not consider something in very distant future.

I think that Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand may be serious contender in 10/20 years, especially the first two.

    • It's waaaay too expensive & inconvenient. Basically WOG minus the bobsleigh track & indoor arena for figure skating/hockey(which is the easy part of Olympic bid). Just won't happen anytime soon. Winter sports are too facility dependant and the entire alpine skiing requires a separate venue.

    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
