I still can't believe that nations are allowed to enter two mixed teams in a same competition. That just doesn't make sense at all. It's not like your shooting performance depends on who are you shooting with.

I guess that's just ISSF being pathetic in trying to make everyone happy. First they throw out established events to make Bach happy, and then they add this mindless rulling to keep the big nations happy.

This is also the reason why I feel team events are relatively useless in shooting other than to award more medals to big nations.

Double trap is officialy extinct. One stupid decision by IOC and its gone. :(

In a way yes, but in another sense if the Olympics was the only thing keeping double trap alive then the blame can’t be all on the IOC, the ISSF clearly didn’t put in enough work fostering that discipline.

Events can survive being dropped from the Olympics, sometimes they even come back (see: the madison).

True, ISSF didnt do much to save DT. In 2004 women DT, now men... Plenty of time to try to save it. Personally, i like it even more than skeet or trap.

Ocassionally, yes. On the other hand, see what happened with running target. Olympic Games bring that vital ingredient for some sport to develop.

    • Record crowds for this weekend, according to the British Comms so well done  les bouffe-grenouilles!
    • Suspect strongly that the Sultan of  is behind Global Wushu!     Another one is long distance & ultra triathlon.  There are literally millions being paid out in prize money to attract big name athletes from several sports, huge FTA TV coverage but seemingly no prospect of any profit.   And the classic is obstacle racing, which has effectively bought up the ownership of Modern Pentathlon.
    • apparently the Japanese organizers rejected OCA's nice request    now OCA is ordering them to do so in a not-so-nice language https://oca.asia/media/attachments/memberships_subcommittee/5/Decision_-_103rd_OCA_EB_Meeting_5ypY8y4.pdf   the last line is very interesting   I knew this for a while, for example that's why Jujjtsu is included in all of OCA events (despite being the worst sport to watch) but good to see OCA admit this. so with the corrupt OCA you can buy your way in. how much they paid the OCA officials for this ?   OK I know Qatar is financially supporting Padel (and UAE is paying everything for Jujitsu) but who is behind Teqball?  ! I don't think Thailand can do that.
    • Important information on team Aerials.   There is no AIN`s team at the start list of the world cup despite of the fact that belorussians have enough athletes to have a team.   https://medias4.fis-ski.com/pdf/2026/FS/8119/2026FS8119SLF1.pdf
    • By the way. It looks like no AIN`s will be in biathlon by the start of the Olympics. Russians filed an appeal to CAS to get AIN statuses in biathlon. But IBU did not agree to have hearings with short procedure. So the decisons are not expected before the end of qulifying period. (FIS could do the same but its top-officials prefer to help russians be back as quick as possible).   I would like to see Dolidovich at the Games. Because she is a real refugee of the relatively high level.
