Too busy breaking?

Pity if he missed all the golf as the last round, and particularly the last nine holes, were very decent watchable sport, with big name players who clearly still cared. He's very well know and successful in prizemoney terms, Tommy Fleetwood, for example, but an Olympic silver is actually probably one of his biggest one off 'wins'

But the Artistic Swimming 2024 world championships threads had a record of 245 replies :d Because it was an Olympic qualification event. It looks like everyone wants their country to qualify a quota there, but do not care at all about the competition itself

Ah, Bromley Tiddlers syndrome. No-one gives a damn about tiddlywinks until Bromley Rangers, the local club, unexpectedly reach the National Grand Final to face the might of Edgeworth Casuals. Then by Tuesday, every man, woman and child in Bromley is an expert winker. (see also, Curling)

With the end of yet another Olympic Games comes the time of my traditional round-up of the activity in the forum. And we have a new record for a Winter Games, at least when it comes to the last 3 editions.

One factor is that we had them back in Europe in a much more convenient time zone for many users, than the last two, which were in Asia.

Also having stuff before the Opening Ceremony plays a big factor, as Curling took advantage of the concentration of eyes early on. Having the largest program in sessions helps as well. :d

Short track in European night sessions (and no simultaneous figure skating) probably helped the comments (as much as those Canadian and the mayhem during the actual races). Alpine skiing in European mornings probably meant most users could only see the 2nd runs for technical events?

Worth noting that these Olympics, there were separate qualification and event threads where as in the past, they were merged together in one thread so that makes the increase in replies even more impressive.

It's somewhat surprising that figure skating isn't more popular here.
