UAE beating Japan in Japan was a big surprise for the 1st day, they also eliminated Japan in Asian Cup last year !

hope our guys don't let Qatar surprise us tonight.

Group B will be a very exciting Group. It's not such a big surprise, since we knew that UAE has a very strong team.

Can't wait for the match tonight :bounce:

what a lucky win ! scoring two goals at 90+4 and 90+11 !!! thanks to Qatari GK for that blunder :d

we have to play much much better than this, we didn't deserve the win today but I take it, it was just the first match and a win is a win.

so many injuries (or fake injuries) but actually we had a long fight after Iran's 1st goal.

Finally :ARG reaches top of the table. Hopefully to never let it go until the end.

Now there are three relatively easy fixtures coming: vs :VEN (away), :PER (away) and :PAR (home). We need 9/9 or 7/9 and Russia will be almost there.

Before the last round in CONCACAF there are only two places now remaining in the last-six round: :CRC , :PAN and :TTO are qualified after round 5 and reach :MEX  (already qualified).

:USA are close, (last match at home with Trinidad)

:HON (against Mexico)

For both teams needing only a draw (or even a narrow loss) to confirm their place in the final Hexagonal round

Talking about all time Top scorer: Carlos RUIZ :GUA with a double, reach 63 goals make him the top global scorer among active national team players, in front of even Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi  (Drogba and Ibrahimovic are retired from International matches)

    • We´ll see. anyway, I hope hope so.   It was her first career senior bout, maybe a bit too early, to be thrown in the lion´s den, but if all this will result in a medal in LA 28 I am all in

    • @hckošice, even though Tomankova lost, she had a good fight against Costa, I think soon she and Babulfath will be the stars of -48kg.

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
