My Top 10:

  1. Athletics
  2. Swimming
  3. Rowing
  4. Artistic Gymnastics
  5. Track Cycling
  6. Archery
  7. Weightlifting
  8. Diving
  9. Shooting
  10. Badminton

Men's road race is one of my absolute favourite events of the Olympics but overall, road cycling is further down my list of favourite sports as I find the time trial to be pretty boring.

Equestrian also just misses my list of favourites... in 11th. I love team jumping and eventing.

So I thought I could do a top 10 like @OlympicIRL and immediately got worried about the lack of different sports that I passionately care for.

1. Athletics

2. Swimming

3. Rowing

4. Canoeing-Sprint

5. Modern Pentathlon

and I can only imagine how highly these are influenced by the fact that we're good at these in Lithuania, but they're also fairly easy for me to follow.

To fill out the top 10, I'd have to say:

6. Cycling-Track (with Krupeckaitė retiring, my interest somewhat fell off)

7. Beach Volleyball

8. Sailing

9-10. I have nothing here, so I can either say basketball and football, since I used to watch them and like them when I was young, or volleyball since I understand what is going on after watching Haikyuu

"urban" for sure...I live in Milan, which, for the Italian standard, is a large city...:p

"youthful"...well, my beard and my hair are starting to show some shades of grey :yikes: and my soul has always been like a 80-year old man (not to mention my knees, my stomach, my lungs and my heart)...:hairpull:

so, no...I don't feel "youthful" at all... :nopompom:

jokes aside, however, I could list way more than a top 5 or a top 10...

as many of you know, I like so many sports (even among the non-Olympic disciplines) that it would be a lot easier to make a list of those I don't enjoy at 100%...

by the way, this time I voted for Swimming, Fencing, Judo, Slalom Canoeing and Shooting, but I feel I did a true injustice to at least another 5/10 sports I always follow with passion and attention...

Aside from national interests, it's mainly athletics and swimming for me at the Olympics. Tennis would be next as is my number 2 sport after football, but I don't care that much about both at the Olympics compared to the regular calendar (but tennis is more interesting per level reasons). Then if I have to mention two sports that I like to watch and don't follow that much outside the Olympics are archery and fencing.

    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
