Winter Youth Olympic Games 2020

Really feel for Amaya :COL. I believe the 500m is by far his best event. So close to making history today, but he’ll have to try in the 1500m (though maybe the Mass Start is his better chance).

first ever medal for Spain in Winter Youth Olympic, and I wasn't expecting this one at all!!

He was actually the favorite to win (as I said in my preview article), but the Yamamoto set down an impressive time for an outdoor venue. Llop is also an elite level roller speed skater, so you have quite a talent on your hands

Besides all of this, he very much shows that he should be 'easily' capable of qualifying for big events in the years to come if he keeps it up.

Llop has been impressive in junior World Cups though :p

He definitely had a very good medal chance, although mostly Yamamoto and Diniz were bigger favourites and quite clearly the top-2 in terms of what they've shown so far.

Not sure if they do, but I know Llop from Roller Speed Skating, and he’s rather good there too.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
