Wanderer 1,597 Posted October 30, 2016 #1222 Share Posted October 30, 2016 OMG, that last game Congrats Pome! And I thought she would beat Angie. Angie's serve was really bad today, also many unforced errors. But Domi constantly pushed her with her amazing offensive shots, returns... I was afraid after miss on third match point, but she survived it and won biggest title in career. Congrats Dominika

Congrats Dominika Not a tennis history expert, but I am pretty sure she is the smallest player ever winning this tournament ? how is this even possible ? anyway very succesfull day for slovak sport. Congrats Domi , enjoy your huge triumph
crovitlaci 177 Posted October 30, 2016 #1224 Share Posted October 30, 2016 And finally, Marin Čilić won the first ATP500 tournament in his career, though he already have GS and Masters title. Usually players firstly win smaller tournaments and then are trying to get GS/Masters, but for him that was obviously too mainstream.

Wanderer 1,597 Posted October 31, 2016 #1229 Share Posted October 31, 2016 Hopman Cup 2017 (January 1-7) provisional teams have been announced while ago. Group A Kristina Mladenovic/Richard Gasquet Andrea Petkovic/Alexander Zverev Heather Watson/Dan Evans Belinda Bencic/Roger Federer Group B Daria Gavrilova/Nick Kyrgios Petra Kvitova/Adam Pavlasek Lara Arruabarrena/Feliciano Lopez Coco Vandeweghe/Jack Sock I wondered will we have some African team any time soon. At the moment South African women's tennis is nowhere and the only decent African team I can think of would be with Ons Jabeur and Malek Jaziri. Meanwhile, South American women are also poorly ranked... Hopefully Japan/China/Kazakhstan will show interest some day.
Wanderer 1,597 Posted November 1, 2016 #1230 Share Posted November 1, 2016 Suarez Navarro withdrew from Zhuhai, Timea Babos in as alternate. Looks like Zhang Shuai can be in SF easily...
