Since it started at 18:00 apparently, I think I was having dinner. Had I known beforehand that it'd take place at that time (but apparently nobody was interested here, since nobody mentioned "hey, this is gonna happen") I would of course have turned on the TV..

With a desire to revitalise track cycling according to key elements defined in the UCI’s Agenda 2022, the Management Committee approved a global reform of the discipline’s calendar.

The current UCI Track Cycling World Cup will undergo several changes from the 2020-2021 season: the number of rounds of the series will go from six to three, and these will no longer be organised from October to January but between July and September, starting in 2021. Moreover, the World Cup will change its name to the UCI Track Cycling Nations’ Cup. As the name suggests, participation will be reserved uniquely for national teams.

From 2021, the UCI Track Cycling World Championships (Elite) will no longer be organised in March but in October, after the end of the new UCI Track Cycling Nations’ Cup.

The Management Committee also agreed to the project to create a new series with an innovative format, the first edition of which will be organised between November 2021 and February 2022. This series aims to increase the appeal of track cycling thanks to a dynamic and attractive format, ideal for television and for spectators present at the event, and simple to understand and follow, even for audiences new to the sport. Selected riders will participate as individuals in the colours of their nation. Further information on the track cycling reform will be communicated after the next UCI Management Committee meeting, which will take place in September 2019 during the UCI Road World Championships. With the UCI Track Cycling Nations’ Cup, the UCI Track Cycling World Championships and the appearance of this series, the new calendar will give track cycling optimal visibility throughout the year. Moreover, the agreed date changes will ensure consistency for the discipline’s calendar in the years that will feature the UCI Cycling World Championships, which will bring together different UCI Worlds and which will take place for the first time in 2023 in Glasgow and Scotland.

So:

- Three instead of six World Cups (or 'Track Cycling Nation's Cups')

- No longer in the winter season, but completely during the road cycling season

- No more commercial teams, national teams only

- 'Dynamic and attractive format!'

All together, UCI has no idea what they're doing and seems to be going backwards.

Even though it was in altitude, this is an amazing result! Amazing considering she was discovered through a talent identification program and told track cycling would suit her the bet, so she tried it and now look!

Same program found Pierce Le Page...

Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
