What about Ukraine? They have good odds as well.

Yes, they lead the odds but I don't believe that juries will allow Ukraine to win, they might win televoting in both semifinal and final, but that's all, same about Spain, juries will not place Chanel on high position, instead they will place high Italy, Netherlands and of course Sweden.

My Top before rehearsals was

1st - :FRA France

2nd - :CYP Cyprus

3rd - :POL Poland

4th - :MNE Montenegro

5th - :GRE Greece

6th - :MDA Moldova

7th - :AUT Austria

8th - :ITA Italy

9th - :LTU Lithuania

10th - :NED Netherlands

But now, after rehearsals (and one day before first semifinal for juries, called dress rehearsal) top is changed for:

1st - :FRA France

2nd - :GRE Greece

3rd - :POR Portugal

4th - :CYP Cyprus

5th - :POL Poland

6th - :MNE Montenegro

7th - :IRL Ireland

8th - :EST Estonia

9th - :NED Netherlands

10th - :LTU Lithuania

with :ISL Iceland being 11th and :GEO Georgia being 12th (that's not joke) and I want see both of them being qualified to Grand Final so badly...

I don't understand what the bookies and the people who bet are smoking, :UKR being the biggest favorite ever to win ESC seems so wrong to me. I mean, we just had TISC and Ukraine wasn't even Top20. There is always some political voting at these contests, but ultimately people vote for the songs. And I think Ukraine simply doesn't have a winning song. But maybe I will see it differently during the contest, I don't know.

Based on the rehearsal clips I would say that :NOR is winning the televote again and they will be stopped by the jury like in 2019. I think either :ITA or :GBR are winning this. But as I said, maybe once I see the full performances I will change my mind.

    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
    • Totallympics had  users at one point, but I haven't seen any hanging around in a while.
    • In terms of total medals, yes. In terms of golds, I’d be fine with anywhere from 6-8.   @intoronto you don’t think we’ll do better or at least the same? Bit surprising.
    • Tadeucci was very good and took bronze
    • On the Olympics I don't like to count golds to analyse the performance, I think the best data are the top8 and medals. In both fields I expect a big improvement (obviously not on the 'pure' number, but on the percentage of medal or top8 events)
    • December is probably going to be focused on either Italy/Austria or Norway, but the plans are still being made as we speak. Renting a car, driving from the Netherlands down to Italy, finding accomodations and help with preparing the skis and all that...trying to make it as an independent 'solo' athlete is...hard     I can't go and help out, because we got the keys to our house (finally) and there's lots of work to be done there, so it's all happening at the same time and the mind is getting crazy (for both of us)
